âIt had become clear to me that this prolonged leadership turmoil would do irreparable harm to the institution,â he said. âThis isnât about me. Itâs about the people. Itâs about the institution.â
âŚand roll turmoil.
Not sure if the the institution he means is the House or the GOP. Either way, he leaves a mess.
No, you didnât. Anyway, that isnât your first job - your job is representing the American people. All of them. Not just the republican variety.
Congressman Orange protecting the institution
UmmmmâŚCantor lost to Brat.
Does this mean he thought Brat sucked balls?
or mental, for that matter.
I Could Have Stayed As Speaker But I Wanted To âProtect The Institutionâ:
And what do you think will happen now Boehner . Ted Cruz and Rep. Daniel Webster running through the chamber and the house spreading rose petals and goodwill? At least when there was a fire Boehner would occasionally throw water on it. The teabaggers will bring gasoline .
Let me guess : You had to Destroy it to save it
And donât forget Boehnerâs co-conspirator and another GOPer hated by the Tea Party.
Olde post turtle Mitch McConnell is sh*tting his depends at the thought of a Tea Potty takeover.
This is maddening. First itâs all Pope all the time and now Boehner is resigning and usurping all the column inches.
I want to hear more rumors and inuendoes about Hillaryâs emails, especially from Chris Cillizza.

I am not sure what he means by âprotect the institution" It seems to me he is giving up, and
handing over control to the right wing nut jobs who will have no problem trying to wreck the
institution and his party in an attempt to get their own way.
Boehner goes out singing a tune from âSong of the South.â
He left office whistling Dixie, literally.
The jokes write themselvesâŚ
Donât forget that the Speakerâs position doesnât have to be filled by a sitting member of the House âŚsooooooooooââŚSarah Palin, Allen West, Michele Bachmann and Glenn Beck are all in play! Itâs ON!
(â.â(âĚââ)â.â)
Welcome to the House GOP Tea Party! Oh, itâs gonnaâ get real now.
âInstitutionâ doesnât begin to describe the GOP-led Congress.
The way I read the statement was that his departure protects the institution because heâs now able to do whatever the hell he wants without fear of reprisal from the crazies. Heâs got a month, with the help of Pelosi, McConnell, and Reid, to pass all the must-pass legislation. By resigning, he can take all the power away from the Tea Party.
âMy first job as speaker is to protect the institution,â he said.
Sorry, Congressman, but that went out the window on January 20, 2009, when you can Mitch McConnell publicly declared that you were going to block every single thing the new president might attempt to do.
Hereâs Congressman Orange coming to his decision:
If Boehner isnât right-wing enough for the Republicans, that is scary. Also, and I hope this isnât true, Iâll bet he has lung cancer.
"I will certainly miss the camaraderie of the House."
âSee ya, assholes!â
