He actually used the word “children”? That usually triggers the water works from poor old John.

Trump’s already planning to sue Orange Julius for diverting attention away from him.

The announcement lessens the chance of a government shutdown next week as Republican leaders in Congress will push for a short-term funding measure to keep the government operating and the speaker will no longer be deterred by those who threatened his job.

Rachel’s hypothesis will still be valid but with a one-time modification.

But oh Boehner, if you only had courage!

So, with Boehner gone they can elect a “real conservative”?! I have a feeling there’s going to be a party split in the Republicans with the emergence of the new Silly Party.

Is it time to start believing in exorcism?

You are an optimist…

You Speaker Boehner brought these crazies to the party, now you must dance with them and die by the sword.

How does it feel to go down in history as the worst Speaker on record and finally to be eaten by your own.

There won’t be a shutdown. The Dems have 188 votes, and Pelosi has already said multiple times they will all vote for a clean CR. That leaves Boehner to whip up just 30 republicans. About 20 freshmen already signed a public letter stating their desire for a clean CR. Boehner can easily get 10 additional people to vote for it. The Freedom Caucus is roughly 40 people. They can bully maybe 50-60 more.

It passes.

And the 5 or so TPers in the Senate aren’t enough to stop McConnell. (Smith, Cruz, Earnst, and probably Johnson…I doubt Cotton signs on with them for this suicide mission).

Roughly the same math goes into raising the debt ceiling as well. The CR goes through early next week, the debt ceiling is raised soon after.
