You are about to enter another dimension, a dimension not only of sight and sound but of mind. A journey into a wondrous land of imagination. Next stop, the Jindal Zone!
Perhaps Jindal is trying to revive the know nothing party.
Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal ® on Wednesday stood behind his declaration that European cities have Muslim “no-go zones” and went on to say that if the U.S. wasn’t careful, it would be seeing its own “no-go zones” soon.
I watched the Daily Show’s interview of the poor deluded Alabamans just this morning, and the white woman said something similar about guarding against Sharia law. Have the law just in case…
I want to slap these people silly.
We have No Go zones already. One is Colorado City, Arizona. Not only are law enforcement scarcely able to enter and their own religious fundamentalist laws followed (including child marriage), the majority of the residents live on taxpayer handouts and refuse to contribute to society in any meaningful way. They’re the worst kind of freeloading immig…oops. Sorry. They’re white citizens and Christians, so must be a treasured way of American life. /snark
The U.S. already has no-go zones. They are called “sundown” towns. They’ve existed for decades. If you were black in a sundown town, you had better be out of that town by sundown.
Applying the theories behind broken-windows and stop-and-frisk policing, successful integration and assimilation will require more attention to the little ways in which we divide ourselves. To get rid of the undigested immigrant communities, we must eliminate ethnic restaurants. To eliminate the ethnic restaurants, we must eliminate ethnic dishes. To eliminate the ethnic dishes, we must eliminate the ethnic spices.
Jindal’s parents came here over 40 years ago…. If they wanted to eat Indian food, they would’ve stayed in India.
Those who speak out against Sharia law should immediately be asked if they support specific elements of Sharia law (that just happen to coincide with the law in the US or, even better, with elements that would not be constitutional in the US, but would be viewed as desirable by evangelicals).
Successful segregation.
As we, no, but some of us for sure, have learned lately, blacks aren’t safe anywhere. Even hundreds of feet from home.
“Despite that, Jindal used the phrase this weekend during a speech in London and has repeatedly said that the ‘zones’ exist.”
He’s taking the porridge right to the chokers.
Those people, white and black, had no idea what they were talking about.
“What they’re really trying to do is overturn our culture. We need to recognize that threat.”
Jindal certainly knows what he’s talking about. When it comes to a culture of violence, there’s no better example than his own state. If there’s any state in the US with cities that should be labeled as a “no-go zone” for violence, it’s Louisiana. Ranked by the FBI and its own Commission of Law enforcement, Louisiana is the state with 4th highest crime rate and leads all states in the number of murders and ranked second in burglary and larceny and its two major cities, New Orleans and Baton Rouge, are the among most violent cities in the U.S.
Bobby’s used to being at laughed at by now.
You no-go outside Weezeeanna. How’s that?
exactly. not sure where the bottom of this ludicrousness is…
He’s trying to run to the white of the GOP.
What is his religion? Is he Buddhist? Does he have the courage to say? And if he is Christianist, what does such a comment make about his lack of faith in his own beliefs?
I mean yeah, Bobbie, because Little Italy in New York turned our whole country Italian and Catholic. Oh, but wait, Little China made us all Chinese and Communists. But that can’t be, because Fisherman’s Wharf in San Fran turned our whole country into NorthWest Pacific Fisherman that are Chinese, Italian, American. And of course we all know how New Orleans made us showerless and French. (Seriously, have you been to grocery in the last decade that doesn’t see baguettes? It’s the creep effect.)
If Jinny’s faith is so weak, he deserves for his religion to face a New Age Reformation.
Here comes Bobby. Cue the Benny Hill music.
Bobby says: “We’re gonna see our own no-go zones if we’re not serious about insisting on assimilation and integration.”
I wonder if he is secretly a Borg?
But seriously, what would this forced integration and assimilation look like?
We in Texas say a prayer each day for the health of all Louisiana elected officials. As they are the only ones who can make our state officeholders appear even slightly sane, we need the ones in Louisiana to remain in good health.
I live in Louisiana and have followed Jindal for over ten years. The man is a die-hard charlatan, snake oil salesman, Barney Fife, Alfred E Newman and P.T. Barnum all rolled into one. If it were not for a largely uninformed, easily manipulated electorate like we have here, Jindal would never have gotten this far. Massachusetts, for example would have laughed this clown into obscurity a long time ago.
But even Louisiana is sick of this man and his mean-spirited narcissism. Jindal is a modern day Nero. His fiddle is his delusional campaign for the WH, and his Rome is the entire state, which metaphorically is burning due to the dire, severe financial crisis Jindal has caused through neglect and ineptitude. Thank God the ash heap of history is waiting for this man.
