Bob McDonnell toned done his religiosity a bit when he got elected governor and started dreaming of higher office later. But in his days in the General Assembly many of us on the Left referred to him as âTaliban Bobâ because of his oft-expressed wishes to theocratize Virginia law to conform to his (and Pat Robertsonâs) family values. Nowadays, I guess those âfamily valuesâ donât begin at home, eh?
This whole family is a sorry bunch. Good riddance to them all, I say.

If this is true â that he was blindly dominated by his spouse- - then McDonnell was clearly unfit to be governor, and should reasonably have been aware of that fact long before he ran. Yet he subjected the state to incompetent and corrupt administration anyway. So really, no reduction in sentence.
If not true, well, then thatâs just the way christianists roll. Whatever happened to bearing your suffering bravely?
