BTW, it is notable how many Democrats testified in his defense today or in writing. Kaine, Wilder, Warner, etc. I have little doubt that if the tables were turned that not a single Teabagger would testify for a Democrat.

Goes to show that, for all the “bickering” that we see in the news, it mostly is one big happy family at the high levels of politics. Democratic politicians serve many of the same masters as Republican ones, in large part because they need money to run for election and re-election and there are only so many sources of the quantity of money they need.

Once again, a politicians gets off too easy. He didn’t just accept bribes, he stole the public trust of the people of Virginia. He deserved more time.

Another sorry example of how white collar crime among the influential gets a light sentence. $121000 in bribes may be chump change to the rich but it is a lot of money to the rest of us.
