Sweet Jesus, I have lotsa problems with Dole, but could you have picked a cheaper ‘cheap shot’ image? This type of picture robs the subject of any dignity and takes their creditability down a notch. You do yourself no favors using this kind of image. Be respectful. Be polite.

I’ve been wondering just where Mr. Dole has been of late. For him to make this kind of statement, there really must be a palpable anger/resentment toward Sen. Cruz. Oh, well - you guys did it to yourselves, planting the seeds of ‘smaller federal government,’ ‘personal responsibility,’ ‘government is the enemy,’ and then the totally obnoxious, endless investigations into President Clinton’s past, his sexual history, business dealings, Hillary’s investments … on and on and on. You people stepped over a line back then, all for your party’s best interests – never stopped to consider what you were doing to America.

Sen. Dole, you had your chance – way back then. You chose to be a follower, not a leader. You failed the GOP and you failed America.

Every GOP establishment attack on Cruz in these terms (“He’s not really ‘Republican’”) reinforces Cruz’s central theme and strengthens his brand, which is what his campaign will ultimately be about. This isn’t helping, ol’ Bob; it’s a thimble of gasoline on the fire. I’m sure Cruz had a good laugh.
