I have to admit that I first read the headline as “Blunt Punished At Home For Defecating On Trump’s Emergency Declaration”.
I perhaps need bifocals.
It’s called integrity all you Republicans who are trashing him . Something that to many of you is a foreign concept.
Sometimes you pay a price and for that and Mr. Blunt I commend you.

My reaction to this is “so what”. He is not up for reelection until 2022, I do not think this will have all that much impact on him.
They are probably totally dependent on undocumented labor for their economy, too.
As I understand it, the event from which Blunt was disinvited was the “Lincoln/Trump Day Dinner on April 6 in Ozark, Missouri”.

I think Blunt was punished in a way I’d wish to be, by missing a highly dull event with a bunch of bores. A credible primary opponent is punishment. This is some county committee people getting themselves in a tizzy over one vote like Stalinists railing about deviationism. It’s a media narrative–if you oppose Trump, you must inevitably be punished, so this is deemed punishment. Silliness.
As soon as I saw “Christian” in the name of the group supporting Trump and ostracizing Blunt, I immediately thought “hypocrisy” and I was right.
Don’t pull out all those hosannas just yet. Blunt did something right ( or wrong) one time in his long political career, it could just be an old age brain fart.
Christian County is one of the poorest and least populated counties in Missouri. It has a population of about 85,000 people, many, if not most, elderly white Fox News watchers on social security. Believe me it is Trump Country but is closer to 3rd world than it is to America.
If Trump really wants to get even, he needs to refuse to declare a national emergency for Missouri when the floodwaters hit later this week. He needs to keep racking up those votes in the Senate to ship him out.

Christian County is just south of Springfield, MO and just above Branson, MO. And yes you correctly named the area Wingnutville. It’s the bible belt of MO and the seat of Missouri Republican power.
