Is it just me â wouldnât you think this would have been a no-brainer, even before it was ordered?
Somehow this just has me thinking: âA Møøse once bit my sisterâŚâ Iâm patiently awaiting the sackings.
Was this another Gucci brain-fart?
If they did it to look like the Fox News logo, but instead âFake Newsâ I suspect it would be accepted universally as clear and good social commentary

A buyer selected this item, a supervisor approved the purchase, the merchandise was ordered, received and reviewed and someone picked this particular t-shirt to feature on the floor. Someone then dressed the mannequin and Bloomingdaleâs staff saw it.
But it wasnât until a journalist took a pic and tweeted that this was found to be offensive and inappropriate?

Mynd you, moose bites Kan be pretti nastiâŚ
Itâs not just you. Good lord, what stupidity.
I donât really see what the issue is. I donât think Bloomingdales is taking Trumpâs side. Somebody in the purchasing department thought it was ironic, edgy, or just ânowâ.
That they now want to people to think this just made its way to the sales floor as if by magic is the strangest part. Just say âhey, we thought it captures the zeitgeist blah blah blahâ.
Hey @Bloomingdales, this isnât funny or fashionable. It further delegitimizes hard working journalists who bring REAL news to their communties.
True as far as it goes, and important. But the real problem is that âfake newsâ is a catchphrase of postmodern autocratic propagandists who donât believe in objective truth because they think truth is what they say it is. So yes, splashing the phrase around has a negative impact on journalists, but also a negative impact on democracy. Would have been nice for this journo to mention that as well.
Maybe that wouldnât have been âfairâ to the other side, thoughâŚ
This will wind up in many âoutletâ stores. They wonât trash these. In our area, Mardens, or Ocean State Job Lots will have these in about a week.
