icymi - this is how you call for putting ground troops back in Iraq without answering the hard questions about it.
In an interview with ABC’s Jonathan Karl that aired on Sunday, Ernst pointed out that she had not yet made a call for ground troops to be redeployed to Iraq.
“I am not ready to put ground troops in, but I think we are coming to a juncture where we will have to make that hard decision,” Ernst argued.
these vets do ,know that it was republicons that funded a war in afganistan and renigged on promises and that spawned al-quaeda…and the republicons got us into a illegal war and cluterphucked it up and dint do a thing for injured vets they voted against the 21century GI bill and every thing needed for the VA …and yet they go out there way to get all cozy with them …seems these vets may have had serious brain injuries
“And I think most of our service members understand that, and I think many of them are ready to go back,” she continued. “If that call comes up, they are going to answer that call.”
I hope she personally answers that call then we’ll know she gives a shit. Because for those who have answered the call? They’re sick and wounded.

The all volunteer force will do whatever they’re asked to do. The question should be what’s the goal.
It’s so very easy for wingnut pols to talk about war and sending young people off to it, when in fact Congress doesn’t want to talk about authorizing war, funding it, etc. So war becomes nothing more than a convenient talking point at motorcycle BQ rallies.
