“I simply said”… No you did not!

"You don’t survive as a society if you encourage and thrive on envy or jealousy.”

How about GREED? We don’t survive as a society if you encourage GREED."

Hitler wasn’t elected. He was appointed.

(Oh, wrong meme? okay, I got it.)

1933! Democracy! Hitler! Brown Shirts! Obama! FEMA camps!

(There. My argument for a ruling oligarchy.)

So what emotions are the ultra-rich appealing to when they are whipping up public support to break unions or ban collective bargaining through their donations to the Republican Party? Altruism? All the fat-cat union members that have (gasp) pensions in the current day and age when the normal working class have been reduced to hand-to-mouth, with no health benefits (just ban the ACA), with no hope of affording their children’s college tuition at a public university (but you can borrow at high interest rates), and stagnant wages (you’d get dividends if you’d invest).

Power and ignorance.

“I simply said just because we’re a democracy doesn’t mean you can’t have bad results,”

I couldn’t agree more. For reference, see the 1980 and 2000 presidential elections.

Well, 1980 at least. The 2000 election wasn’t completely the fault of the electorate. We tried to elect the other guy, we just weren’t allowed.

What part of ‘income inequality is bad for everybody’ doesn’t he understand? I’ll head to Home Depot next time I need a strawman.

Hitler wasn’t elected, he was a appointed in a backroom deal. And the NSDAP (the Nazis) never had a plurality in the Reichstag.

Also, Langone is a probably always has been an ass.

That’s okay, because I haven’t really forgiven him.

So this is the part where he complains that his first amendmet rights to talk like an assh*le are being violated by other people using their first amendment rights to call him one…

Doesn’t recall that Hitler campaigned on a promise to ban elections if he got elected does he? And that’s just what he did.

The 1% really imagines that we all sit around and envy them. We don’t. They’re empty-headed and selfish without a care for the world they are creating around them. Who wants to live such a vacuous life?

But it’s their fantasy that we envy them that drives them to make even more money off our backs.

Don’t flatter the jerk. He was not a founder, only a banker for Home Depot. He made his money with other people’s money and other people’s ideas.

I’d say that the Nazi formula was about scapegoating, propaganda, and playing on a desperate nation’s desire for a return to strength and glory. Sounds a bit like Putin’s Russia, but never mind. Envy? Jealousy? Actually, he’s the jealous one, guarding his riches.

As for democratic process doesn’t necessarily mean a good result, he’s right there. Especially where there are no democratic traditions, such as Egypt, Germany in the '30s, etc.

He simply said that if you think “That law they want to pass is good for billionaires but it isn’t good for me” then you’re Hitler. Don’t you people understand plain English?
