So O’Reilly thinks that is bad advice? Interesting. Sounds like good advice to me.
Any parent should – when it comes to matters of life and death, don’t rely on your skin color to protect you from crazy authoritarians.

I was going to say something along those lines, but saw your post and couldn’t have said it as well. The combination of smugness, obliviousness, and viciousness displayed by O’Reilly and his counterparts (e.g., Limbaugh, Coulter, and Hannity) is revolting and speaks volumes to the corruptness of the right wing.
Well, in fairness to Bill, that only involved black people, who are clearly not his audience.
Bill’O should contact the NYPD PBO before he starts mouthing off about De Blasio resigning. Bill’O doesn’t really live in NYC so he likely doesn’t recall what the succession rules in NYC are under the current NYC city charter. If De Blasio resigns, we don’t have a new election. The Public Advocate succeeds to Mayor and the current Public Advocate is Letitia James - former City Council member from Brooklyn representing several districts including Bed-Stuy. Did I mention she also called for investigations into the NYPD over multiple issues. Oh, yeah, Bill’O, I’d like to see De Blasio resign and get replaced by a new Mayor who’d really go after Lynch’s thugs.

thank you for highlighting that line. that was the one that got under my skin. his suggestion that responsible parents should avoid protecting their children from the dangers of authoritarian abuse is beyond the pale, even for an out-of-touch white guy.

I miss the days when ‘journalists’ and ‘reporters’ were actually knowledgeable and worldly people, instead of the embarrassment they are now. now, it’s like anybody who is willing to scream at the top of their lungs ‘the other side are the bad guys’ get prime-time coverage. your comment perfectly highlights, Bill O had no idea what he was saying. who would argue with “if a police officer stops you, do almost everything he tells you to do”? somebody who didn’t do the requisite legwork to check sources and quotes, that’s who.
