Poe’s Law
This makes like, I think, the third time O’Reilly’s been in a situation where he seems to be building up to a public meltdown that ends his career in a spectacular radioactive fireball. As with the first two, I expect he’ll somehow survive this one.
In other words, he wrote the entire fictional novel as a cathartic exercise because he was having a tantrum over CBS’ use of his lame footage from Argentina…footage he has in the past mischaracterized as showing all sorts of violence during a riot, etc…for a show that he wasn’t invited to be the center of, because standard operating procedure was to take everyone’s footage and mish-mash it. He was bitter and felt like the footage and his reporting from Argentina should’ve been his break through moment and resulted in his christening as the next Kronkite, but that didn’t happen, so he wrote a short novel about his fantasies of killing everyone involved.
This is no different than all the other times he’s cited to fiction on his program and claimed it backs up his opinions factually.
Someone should ask BillO if the character ‘Ron Costello’ in his book was based on CBS correspondent Bob Schieffer.
Really? Do all right-wingers confuse Hollywood and fiction with real life? Is this what’s really going on at Fox News? They think they can spew nonsense that leads to third parties murdering the innocent and they think - like in cartoons - the dead will rise again to fight another day with no hurt feelings, no fatal pushback? F**king idiots.
Wait. Did O’reilly just admit to murdering his colleagues?
The 1998 book, a crime thriller about a journalist who ends up murdering his former colleagues, was a work of fiction.
I laid this out in a book called, Those Who Trespass," he told TV Newser. "That was the first book that I wrote. Soup to nuts, what happened in Buenos Aires during the Falklands war.
We have buried the lede here.
When a bass starts flopping around on the bottom of the boat, he knows he’s a goner.
Here’s hoping you are finally wrong.
O’Reilly’s tactic is predictable. It’s the time honored Big Lie response: Tell a lie. If caught, tell a bigger lie. Place fingers in ears while shouting, “NaNaNa…Can’t Hear You! NaNaNa…Can’t Hear You! NaNaNa…Can’t Hear You! NaNaNa…Can’t Hear You! NaNaNa…Can’t Hear You! NaNaNa…Can’t Hear You!”
Citing ‘fiction’ to prove you telling the truth? What can one say but…bwwaaahahahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa! ~deep breath!~ hahahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa! ____Welcome to THE NO SPINE ZONE!
I’m certain Lying 101 is taught at FOX News as an ‘essential’ practice that must be mastered for all of it’s base and depraved ‘news readers’ and bloviating gasbag pundits.
(*BTW: BillO’ WAS once cut by tinsel shrapnel while covering the “War on Christmas.”)
When your whole career is based on your bravado manner and little actual fact, you can probably survive a lot of “fact” checking.
Kind of reminds me of all those holy roller televangelist that preach all kinds of self-sacrifice yet seem to live incredibly high on other peoples hog.
Forgive the length, but here are just some examples of O’Reilly’s lies, distortions and right-wing buffoonery as chronicled by Professor Peter Dreier, professor of politics and chair of the Urban & Environmental Policy Department at Occidental College. And THIS list only goes up through 2012…I’m certain many have been added since then. SO…I wouldn’t expect FAUX News even to chide, much less fire BillO’:

• O’Reilly falsely claimed Bush didn’t oppose 9-11 Commission.
O’Reilly defended President George W. Bush from a Kerry-Edwards '04 TV
ad highlighting Bush’s opposition to creation of the 9-11 Commission by
denying that Bush had ever opposed the commission. In fact, Bush did
oppose the creation of the 9-11 Commission. (10/21/04)
• O’Reilly falsely claimed Iraq had ricin.
O’Reilly responded to a caller to his radio show by defending the Iraq
war: “They did have ricin up there in the north – so why are you
discounting that so much?” In fact, the Duelfer report (the final report
of the Iraqi Survey Group, led by Charles A. Duelfer, which conducted
the search for weapons in Iraq following the U.S.-led invasion)
indicates that Iraq did not have ricin. (10/19/04)

interrupted a former Clinton administration official who tried to
correct the record on O’Reilly’s claim that terrorist Abu Musab
al-Zarqawi constitutes a direct link between Al Qaeda and Saddam
Hussein’s Iraq. He also allowed a conservative guest to repeat without
challenge other discredited claims about Iraq’s supposed involvement in
terrorism – claims O’Reilly has himself cited in the past. (9/27/04)
• O’Reilly fabricated “Paris Business Review” as source for success of French boycott.
O’Reilly falsely claimed “they’ve lost billions of dollars in France

• O’Reilly confused on elementary economics.
O’Reilly told a caller on his radio show, “We [the United States] have a
trade deficit with everybody, because everybody wants our stuff, and
we’re not wild about snails” – indicating that he doesn’t know the
definition of “trade deficit” and implying that the United States runs a
trade surplus with France. In fact, in the first four months of 2004,
the United States had a $3 billion trade deficit with France. (6/10/04)
• O’Reilly doctored quotation to suggest Soros wished his own father dead. During
his smear campaign against progressive financier, philanthropist, and
political activist George Soros, O’Reilly doctored a 1995 quotation by
Soros to make it seem as if Soros wished his own father dead. (6/1/04)
• O’Reilly questioned if Kennedy would show up to Democratic convention … as Kennedy spoke behind him. O’Reilly teased an upcoming segment of The O’Reilly Factor,
broadcast live from the Democratic National Convention, by saying of
convention speaker Senator Edward Kennedy: “When we come back, we’ll let
you listen to Ted Kennedy for a while, if he shows up.” In fact,
Kennedy had already shown up and had been speaking for several minutes,
as O’Reilly need only have turned around to see. (7/27/04)
• O’Reilly disparaged Democrats with trifecta of voter falsehoods.
In a discussion about what went wrong for Democrats in the November 2

ago”; that “18- to 24[-year-old]s didn’t go” to the polls; and that
“[c]ommitted Republicans didn’t carry the day for the president;
independents did.” All three claims are false. (11/4/04)

…
Hey! Using BillO’s logic, since I went to a military base once, I’m a combat veteran! BooooYah!
Bill O will ultimately use the Fox News/ Rush Limbaugh defense:
“we aren’t a news show, we are entertainment.”
Covers every lawsuit. Aside from that, they’ll just smear the reporter, like Rand Paul did on the multiple times he’s been caught plagiarizing others work. This is how republicans get away with everything. There are no reprecussions for republicans, thay are “victims” of the “liberal” media. Fucking fascist crooks…
BillO should have learned in grade school that you can’t use the word [lie] in the the definition of that word [lie], i.e., a word [lie] to define its meaning is simply a circular definition.
Guess he skipped grade school he was so smart.
OMG, while those pretty New York faces conspire what are the rest of their body parts doing?!?!?!?!?!
