Discussion: Bill: Missouri Lawmakers Automatically Become Lawyers After 2 Years In Office

Discussion for article #246472

Rand Paul: This is a good idea by fellow conservatives. I created my own Board that authorized me as a Board Certified Ophthalmologist. This is even better as I didn’t even have to go to school.

I live in Missouri and read about this bill this morning.

This is all about term limits. Missouri passed term limits several years ago now and it has been a disaster. Turns out that legislating can be hard and takes the kind of expertise learned over time. What we now have in MO is a legislature full of liberal and conservative ideologues who have no idea how to govern and not much interest in governing anyway. But they all want to retire into judgeships after they are term limited out of office.

The CDC ought to start universal testing of water nationwide to see if they can identify the source of this epidemic of craziness.

Sounds like Missouri would be a good place to start, especially the water supply for the legislature.

The bill passed that automatically made them “decent human beings” didn’t work ---- I see no reason that this one will succeed in making them lawyers

The legislation was introduced Wednesday by Republican state Rep. Robert Ross, who serves on the committee of professional registration and licensing. According to Kansas City Star columnist Barbara Shelly, Ross is a self-employed land surveyor and owner of a shooting range.

So, the guy who’s sponsoring this bill is a part time representative and part time gun range owner. This is who folks are sending to the legislature in MO to represent them. And across the country. Uh huh.

If what you’re saying is true, then why not just make everyone a judge after two years?

It’s a brilliant move.

After you put some of these citizen ex-legislators on the bench, there will be increased demand for attorneys to file appeals. The citizen ex-legislators will be there to meet the demand. By the time the next batch of citizen ex-legislators hits their term limits and needs jobs, there will be demand for attorneys to sue citizen-ex-legislator-attorneys for their malpractice on the appeals.

Trump: This is an effective way to get rid of teachers altogether. Every Natural Born citizen gets a free high school diploma at birth. They dont need to go to school of any kind. Teachers and their union are automatically destroyed. Our taxes go down as well. Thank you southern confederate amerikans.

They could put the napkins on a roll so most people would recognize the degree for what it is - toilet paper.

What else would you expect from a backward state where most of the resident’s IQ is only surpassed by the number of teeth they have.

How many judges do you imagine we have in MO?

Democrats amended the bill to classify anyone who works hands-on with Rep. Ross as a proctologist.

But being sued for legal malpractice costs just as much for honorary-lawyers.
