Discussion for article #226909
Mr Kristol is talking out of a certain part of his anatomy. Should the US drop ordinance in Syria they could take that as an act of war. In Iraq the ground rules are different.
Talking out of his ass is the standard method of conversation for Bill Kristol.
Right, what could go wrong (cough, cough, Cambodia); sneeze ā¦ Afghanistan? He has watched too many House episodes where the patient always survives the ātry thisā diagnostic method.
āProfessional moron, Bill Kristolā
Letās use his official job title, people!
Iām sure weād be greeted as liberators and the whole thing would be over in a few days, right Bill? Isnāt that how it has always worked?
āOrdinanceā = law or regulation.
āOrdnanceā = bombs, etc.
So heās gotten that big promotion?
Imagine what could go right if Billy Boy would just STFU.
What could go wrong? Hmmmā¦ letās see. Off the top of my head:
1 - we piss them off even more and they take more hostages and donāt bother announcing they have them until they display the severed heads.
2 - we end up killing women and children and other civilians because, unlike NATO supreme command, ISIS doesnāt have a single building that, in bombing it, could accomplish ākilling a number of their membersā.
3 - we canāt send Bill to lead the charge on the ground.
Bill just loves to see blood being spilled. But not hisā¦
Whatās the harm of bombing them at least for a few weeks and seeing what happens?
The punditry, across the fake political spectrum, have been more jibberingly insane than usual as ISIS has metastasized out of the Syrian furnace and complicated vacation travel plans and childish, old-fashioned world views.
Thankfully these always incorrect dead-enders can only screw with the minds of the elderly broadcast audience and donāt influence policy.
And that is Bill I-am-a-cowardly-chickenhawk-always-wrong-about-everything Kristol in a nutshell: āBomb some folksāwhat could go wrong?ā
Thatās Kristol in a nutshell. Syria is one of the most complex and dangerous situations in a region rife with them, and he deliberately says letās not even think about the possible consequences of a particular course of action, letās just bomb the guys we like least for a while and see what happens. Heās like a child, this guy.
BTW good rundown by John Cassidy on the actual complexities anyone who aspires to be a grownup has to think about with Iraq and Syria: http://www.newyorker.com/news/john-cassidy/what-next-in-iraq-and-syria
Unless d-town is talking about bring law to the regionā¦
Heās known as āBloody Billā for a reason. He never met a war he didnāt love, or a chance to kill that he wouldnāt advocate.
He is the ulimate personification of an American Jihadist.
one of the iraq arsonists is just wondering how he can help with the fire.
I think he just explained how he manages to be wrong so often and consistently. He just opens himself up to a universe of possibilities, picks a random one and asks the universe what could go wrong?, and he merely takes the silence that follows as the universeās silent assent to his choice.
Shut the Fuck Up Bill Kristol.
You have been WRONG on everything in the last 10 years. Why the hell should anyone listen to you now?
Donāt you have some racist pro-slavery op-ed to edit over at The Weekly Standard?
We could not end our occupation for one thing. We need to be out, all the way, not back in, kind of.
There is a clear distinction between war hawk and a dove.
You never hear any thoughtful discussion from the hawks, just shit like this from the war firsters, like Kristol, McCain and Graham.
Since the war dummy, George W. Bush, faded into obscurity, we have had some restraint and reduced aggression. That is a great thing and no thanks to the my way or the highway crowd.
Barack may have to fight because we canāt just let certain things happen, but he is moving with caution and intelligence always considering the human factor. That kills the war hawks that just want to see million dollar bombs blow up, and some dark skinned people.
