Discussion: Bill Cosby Sentenced To 3-10 Years In Prison For 2004 Sexual Assault

Wow. Never imagined anything like this all those years ago sitting with my father, listening to Cosby albums or watching his comedy specials. For my Dad’s sake, I’m kinda glad he passed on before this all started going downhill for Mr. Cosby. My father loved this man.

That said, I am glad some justice is starting to be handed down to those deserving. More, please.

“…listening to Cosby albums…”

Heh. That’s how I was introduced to Cosby. First by my parents listening to their albums then by watching “I Spy.” Strange how you remember these things.

I wonder if a tweet will come from the WH saying how “sad” it is and that Cosby is the victim here.

Sexual Assault in Trump’s America 101:

  • Washed-up, Jell-O shill of color? 3-10 years hard time.

  • Pink son of GOP privilege? Supreme Court nomination.

Any questions?

Precisely. And now we get to see which is stronger in the Pumpkin Traitor: automatic defense of sexual predators or racism.

Not quite. He doesn’t get to stay out on appeal.
Philly Inquirer article

ETA quote:

"District Attorney Kevin R. Steele had urged the judge to lock Cosby up for the maximum 10-year term, while defense lawyers cited their client’s blindness, advanced age and declining health in a bid for house arrest. They also sought to let Cosby remain free on bail while he appeals, a request O’Neill denied.

“I’m not going to treat him any differently than anyone who comes in here,” the judge said, as the lawyers continued to argue the issue. “There are people in jails all over the state who think they should have bail while they appeal.”

The judge also ordered Cosby to pay a $25,000 fine and the repay the cost of his prosecution. "

Is that right? I keep looking for a confirmation, but I don’t see anything. I want him in jail. Today.

Huh. A judge willing to listen to testimony. May it become a trend.

And, maybe a few years in the slammer wil teach The Cos a thing or two.*

  • Apologizes to SCTV.

Judge locked him up after all. Hooray!

There will be a reckoning for Kavanagh, too. He should not believe he’s not accountable to his victims because they were inebriated or that it all happened decades ago.

Thanks, soeasy!

And the best part

As his lawyers argued that ruling, Cosby sat at the defense table and began talking on his cell phone. Then, he removed his watch and tie and gave them to his lawyers.

which implies that they hauled him directly off to the pokey. May it be so.

Meanwhile, Camille is trying to get the Judge in trouble …

More from the Inquirer:
"They also asked the judge to let Cosby remain free on bail while he appeals. O’Neill denied the request, ordering instead that he be immediately taken away to prison.

“This is a serious crime,” O’Neill said. “The nature of this crime indicates that he could quite possibly be a danger to the community.” "

I am not glad. There is too much conflict in view point for me to be so. Depressed is more like it that this is a reality. For his victims, it is a grim acknowledgement that they have had justice. For what good the man had done in his life, he destroyed it, stomped on it, soiled it.

No doubt the progenitor of Fat Albert’s done a bad, bad thing - Horrendous in fact!

Yet, a residue of melancholy is all that will remain - after the maddening circus of cable, victims and attorneys, channeling to satiate a prurient public.

…Not to be outdone by a determined prosecutor who campaigned for this day of justice and vengeance.

Now, all worldwide camera can focus on the perfect perp-walk of this vagrant, octogenarian black man.
