Discussion: Bill Clinton: Obama On 'Firm Legal Footing' With Immigration Order

Remember, the “Lamestream Media” is “liberal”.

FAUX told us so.

Indeed there is little doubt the GOP leaders are fed the “proper” words to use by people like Frank Luntz.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) vowed that “Congress will act” if the president moves forward.

Like, pass an actual immigration bill? “dies laughing”

Yeah, I’m waiting to see that.

It’s going to fun watching all the bigots heads explode after Obama makes his announcement tonight. Get out the popcorn, and find something to clean all that gray matter off the walls. Things could get very messy.

I dunno…all the mainstream media outlets (and the Kook outlets) aren’t showing it…but the Latino media outlets are.

Which means the information will be getting to the right people, while it won’t be getting to the kooks.

But then again, they will just rely on the “liberal” media (i.e., FAUX) to tell them what the president “really said”…and since they only see and hear what they want to see and hear, I suppose that’s just as good as watching the actual speech.

Yes, but the Republicans in Congress- especially those lead by Rafael “Ted” Cruz (What, Ted me boy, too ashamed of being Hispanic to use your first name?) don’t care what is or isn’t legal. They just want to blow Obama up.

Ted only considers himself “hispanic” when it’s politically convenient.

I know…and personally, I find it offensive. I’m Hispanic and proud.

The Daily Show had an amusing montage of Foxbots parroting the “Obama is shredding the Constitution” meme, with various demonstrations of brainless Fox contributors tearing and burning Constitution facsimilies.

Yes, obeying the Luntzian dictates, they’re exhibiting a laser-like focus on indoctrinating their viewers how horrifyingly unAmerican Obama is. Birtherism all dressed up in new duds.

…All the better to simply report on the “controversy.”

Hah! Congress will ACT? Tell us another fairy tale.

Congress can blather, bloviate, filibuster, lie, grandstand, take bribes, go on vacation and shut down the government. Actually showing up at work and doing their jobs appears to be not within their repertoire.

I believe MSNBC will carry it.
Small consolation, I know.

Since the Republicans are hellbent on ending the American Republic, we’re far better if our first emperor is Obama rather than one of that traitorous camp. Let them shut down the government over this. Then declare the national emergency, which it will honestly be, and … Emperor!

Clicknotism. I’d say kill your television, but we know that is not going to happen.

To be quite honest, I find that to be a common trait among all Cuban politicians in this country…they’re only “hispanic” when it gets them something.

And that might have a lot to do with the not-very-friendly feelings that Central Americans (read: Mexicans) and Cubans tend to have for each other.

Not to be rude but I’m positive that President Obama knows exactly where he stands without Clinton giving him the thumbs up.
Even if Barack tilts towards questionable actions, it’s only to bait the Republicans all over again. Just look at them now-blinded by brown.

The Republican reaction to everything is very predictable and easily foreseen. Priorities wise, their ranting is way down the list and in fact is meaningless, they throw their tantrums either way. This is typical, just as Clinton notes, so the overblown response is the real issue. The story here is just how effing nuts the Republicans are and how hateful to others they can be.

I agree. Obama will not push the limits of his authority or try to chart new ground.
In fact, I fully expect him to make a bold announcement couched in a challenge to the Republicans to act.
That will put the onus on the repubs and position Obama as reasonable, flexible, but increasingly impatient in the face of do-nothingism.

IOW, exactly what he has been doing only now he has waited long enough and is moved to take things into his own hands, just as he has warned.

Our recent losses notwithstanding, Barack is still sly and toys with the Repubs at his will. He also just does what needs to be done which in right wing world is outrageous.
I hope he goes a bit too far and just causes a full on melt down. Why wait?

Cubanos are loathed by quite a large chunk of Hispanics and Latinos from everywhere else. This has a lot to do with how open-armed the US has been to Cubano refugees. My grandfather’s parents were from Chile and the Dominican Republic. According to my family, my great-grandfather spent ten years in prison for opposing the American installed regime in the Dominican Republic, and supposedly died in jail under Trujillo. The actuality was that he died shortly after Trujillo took power, but still…

My great-uncles stayed in touch with members of the family in the Dominican Republic and Chile, but lost contact when first Trujillo took over in the Dominican Republic and then when Pinochet took over in Chile. From what we’ve been able to find out, many of them were executed, and quite a number just disappeared.

But because those nations were pro-US, their citizens couldn’t get an automatic free ride the second they set foot on US soil.
