I agree. But that photo on the InfoWars website of Biden banging a goat looks pretty real to me. I think he needs to address that.True, but here’s my problem: why say anything if you’re him?

Because this is a big perception issue for Biden. He can’t realistically sit quietly on the sidelines, given the make up of his competition in the 2020 primary, assuming he runs.
Regardless of the facts on this matter and the bigger perception matter, Biden is now going to be judged…rightly in my opinion…in how he addresses the perception issue. The “handling of the perception” is actually what a lot of people are worried about concerning Biden…because he has a history of poorly handling perception issues, particularly in Presidential primaries.
IMO, this is a pretty weak comeback so far. It opens the door to every weird photograph taken of Biden being “touchy” with women…and there are a lot. Some will break the way Stephanie Carter broke for him…some will break the other way. Having to answer each, one by one, as they emerge, will put his campaign into a ditch before it even gets started. Nor is saying “they are all fake photos!” going to be particularly effective. Because they aren’t, and it will come off as dismissive of female concerns and claims…a point on which Biden is particularly vulnerable.
I keep remembering that Joe Biden is not a very good campaigner. If he were, maybe his previous primary efforts would have been more successful.
I’m not saying we should put the guy out on an ice floe, but not everybody’s destined to be President, Mr. Biden.
Poor Biden spox hasn’t seen this pic of Eva Longoria being casually groped by Biden. Maybe he’d say right wing troll took the pic.

While I agree with the majority of this, here’s the thing : he won today and he didn’t have to lift a finger or say a word, until now.
Flores backtracked and got called out for being a past Sanders supporter. Carter wrote that blog post that basically dares anyone to call her a liar.
I get that he eventually had to say something (even if it’s via statement), but it could have waited 24 hrs.
Must have been a James O’Keefe sting operation.
Biden is too old and lost two different primaries. It shouldn’t be necessary to kick the man before he’s even off the ground.
Assuming they’re not very close friends, what guy does that for a photo? I mean, seriously?

My point is, that this was clearly a “known” issue by his campaign. Questions about “Weird/Creepy Uncle Joe” is not an “out of right field” type of issue.
And a response should have been prepped and ready to go as soon as something like this dropped. Instead, it looks like they spent the weekend digging around for a strong supporter to come forward and say “I LIKED it when Joe touched me!”.
IMO, this is an issue they should have been waiting to pounce on with a strong, clear response, so they could kill it as an issue, early. I don’t think that has been achieved here.
