Discussion: Biden Jokes About Wishing He Had 'One Republican Kid' Who Made Money

Discussion for article #225525

I’m sure the Veep knows this, but there is absolutely no evidence that Republicans are any better at making money than Democrats. Warren Buffett, for one, would beg to differ.

It’s a joke. Or as that big chicken says, I say I say I say I say that’s humor, son!

I love him, too, but I’m really hoping that, come 2016, he decides it’s time for a nice long rest.

“You know, so when they put me in a home, I get a window with a view. You know what I mean?”

I get where he’s going with this, but I see a flaw in the logic. The Republican would likely just put him in with a sack of kittens and throw them from the bridge into the river. Because compassion.

Exactly. Our family has it’s token Republicans one of which is a millionaire who spends freely on personal accessories and the very latest technology toys for himself but when it comes to assisting his elderly mother with her medical bills or even a little monthly “walk around money” fuggedabboudit!

"I don’t have that kind of money is always his reply…

He does, however, always have the kind of money for a $45,000 impulse purchase.

I took it to mean not just how much money one earns, but how much one values money when choosing a career.

Is the VP term-limited? If not, I wouldn’t mind seeing him hold onto it for a while.

For a guy who has earned good money all his adult life to be worth upwards of $800,000 doesn’t say much about his financial planning for retirement. I can see why he charges the Secret Service rent to use a cottage to protect him. He obviously needs all the money he can get!

Besides, it not like Biden can demand $250k for a speech. Fortunately, Biden has a government pension to rely on for his golden years.

Hopefully his son, Hunter, will do well in his new job on the board of directors of Burisma Holdings, a private company that has drilled for natural gas in Ukraine since 2002. I’m sure Hunter is most qualified to join the board and it’s just a fortunate coincidence that his dad is the sitting vice-president.

Rest?

No, sorry Joe, but we really need you to pull Ms. Clinton to the left.

Frankly, I don’t trust her without a counterbalance. That doesn’t mean I wouldn’t vote for her under most any foreseeable circumstance, but I’d really prefer not to have to hold my nose while voting.

That’s because you raised her right, Joe.

It also doesn’t hurt to be the daughter of the Vice President and a long-time, popular Senator to boot.

At least Biden’s sons served in the military, one was a JAG unlike the Romney lads who had other plans.

Don’t forget, from the time his wife and daughter were killed in a car accident, and both boys severely injured, just before being sworn in for his first term, he committed to returning home via Amtrak most nights to be with his boys.

He was also known as one of the “poorest” members of the Senate. He’s a decent man who has served us long and well and has passed that passion on to his children.

His wife teaches at a community college, when she could likely command quite a position at a prestige university.

As you can tell, I adore Joe.

LOL all of my Finance professors at the University of Mississippi are Republicans and they force us, via requirements for class to read the Wall Street Journal, even some test us on specific articles and I really just want to throw up onto the floor alot of the time. But Hotty Toddy to all of that I hate Mississippi
