saddened by the insult to the intelligence of the United States
'Zactly.
On the trivial front where the Village gets paid to live, I was pleased someone made Bibi shampoo the Dame Edna blue rinse out of what today was dull, dishwater gray. Shame the sneerās gotten worseā¦
Pelosi is my representative and probably always will be be, and reading these heartfelt remarks I only wish she could once again be Speaker. Age and time are the insurmountable roadblocks to that happening.
It is, unfortunately, true. Netanyahu uses one hand to stab the United States in the back, and the other is reserved for generous welfare handouts.
"The unbreakable bonds between the United States and Israelā¦ "
These bonds are not unbreakable. Bibi is playing with fire.
ā¦all while publicly mouthing platitudes and privately saying āAmerica is thing thatās easy to moveā
Thatās the point. The bonds are unbreakable, but the tie to Bibi and Likud can most definitely beā¦untied.
āI was near tears throughout the Prime Ministerās speechā
Representative Pelosi, I think you are a fine stateswoman and upstanding liberal, but that was a bit far fetched. Unless you mean that excessive eye-rolling caused by Bibiās rhetoric was irritating your eyes.
She is an example of what a Speaker of the House should be. I miss her in that position terribly.
I hope the voters in Israel understand what Bibi is trying to do and what a dangerous game heās playing. The āfriendshipā and handouts he so enjoys are not recorded in stone. The United States may decide that Israel is a threat to world peace and begin sanctions and take their āallowanceā away. It behooves Israel to tread lightly and to realize how much they have to lose.
Me too, Nancy. I find this entire spectacle of our Congress eroding our sovereignty humiliating.
Yes. Especially with regard to the pursuance of a two-state solution and Israelās willful defiance on the matter of settlements, it seems to me more often than not these days that the U.S. has Israelās best interests in mind more than the prime minister does.
We should never remove John Boehner from this spectacle. Netanyahu did not invite himself to make this speech.
The American right wing and Netanyahu are determined to misrepresent ā or lie outright ā about the Obama administrationās position on Iran and Israelās security. They do so because they get away with it.
Soā¦ there was an adult in the room.
Keep in mind that the U.S. is not the only western democracy. Now, after this mockery of a sham of two shams of a mockery, which other western leaders, knowing that Bibi has no qualms about undermining any nationās foreign policy; defecating on the doorstep as it were; are going to trust Bibi? If they ever did that is.
ā¦ Only not by this congress controlled by GOP that can use Bibi & Likud to embarrass the administration.
ā¦ And they lie about Mossadās own intelligence info it found, that is that Iran has stopped all uranium enrichening processes that would have been indicative of seeking nuclear weapons, so the threat has been curbed by negotiation/sanctions. And Bibi would have had this info in hand when he spoke at the UN.
What was Netanyahuās alternative? War to the last American GI?
Yes. Red state Tea Party state legislatures across the nation see Sharia and āother foreign lawā as threats to American sovereignty except when it can be used in an unpatriotic manner to embarrass the president and commander-in-chief in time of war.
