We don’t believe a word!

His intent was to fear-monger to drive up turnout.

The fact that it was insulting to many was just gravy.

Well, there you go. Thank heaven that’s over.

Disingenuous prick

He just loves Israel too much, and he said it in the heat of passion.

Hmm, most uncharacteristic. Wonder if somebody’s feeling the heat from the majority of his countrymen who were already sick of him – and from a certain Kenyan Muslim socialist.

Lesson to Bibi - In the heat of passion don’t be a dick…

Earlier he claimed he was actually trying to encourage Arab conservative voters. Now he is apologizing. Somehow those two things don’t seem to square with each other.

But I supposes that is always the result when trying to reconcile the words of a known-liar.

Withdrawn, as CTVoter said it much more succinctly upthread.

Translated from the original Hebrew:
“I’m sorry that some of you morons thought I was telling the truth when I said inflammatory racist things just to get re-elected. I’m a politician. I lie all the time. What did you expect?”

That is a surprise. Bibi must be feeling the heat. Keep up the pressure President Obama. Netanyahu can not be trusted. In true right wing fashion he is everything he accuses the Iranians of being. Looks like he underestimated our President, not a smart thing to do.

What’s to apologize for? It worked. If the people want a fear-mongering racist to represent them, they deserve one. I actually preferred Netanyahu’s unambiguous jingoism to the endless dog whistling that we’re usually subjected to.

The “chosen people” had a clear choice. Netanyahu is them.

Netanyahu is, in the words of Al Franken, just a lying liar.

Perhaps he was distracted by his plans to buy his peroxide blonde wife some nice tiffany’s. Wait…where am I? What year is this?

Mr. Netanyahu further added, “as my comments may have inadvertently influenced certain impressionable voters to change their votes in my favor, I realize I have no choice but to ask the Supreme Court to vacate the results of this election and to schedule new elections within 30 days. After all, the integrity of our electoral system is more important than the political survival of any specific candidate, even myself.”
Tick-tock, Bibi.

Are you sure you would want to see that? After winning with an overt racist appeal, to see Netanyahu lose after adopting a slightly more reasonable position? Sounds even more depressing to me.

Ah, the proverbial “walk back.” After. He. Was. Elected. How convenient…

I hadn’t thought of that.

To be more precise, in todays world of Politics, to say something blatantly wrong and hurtful and then walk back from the previous comments looks like is just the norm. There is no longer honor and integrity per say. The comment of Arab voters coming to vote in droves are just the same comments made about welfare queens-1980, moochers/47%-2012, shoulders size of cantaloupes-2013, kenyan socialist-2014, and on and on. These are labels that the intended targets are people who doesn’t look like the rest. Minorities, people of color, people with different culture and appearance. Until these politicians will come into their senses to realize that the world is made of different classes of people and not just one.
