Discussion: Bharara: 'There's Absolutely Evidence' To Start Obstruction Case Against Trump

Tramp build his celebrity by publicly firing reality show people. All of those contestants were under the gag order of an NDA.

Not so with Bharara, Comey and perhaps many more to come. Tramp and his demon spawn will live to rue the day that he chose to enter politics.

I’ve been flipping through the Sunday shows, and starting to gag on the lies and distractions put forth by the president’s* supporters. It’a all about Comey and “leaking,” no evidence of collusion or wrongdoing…my foot. They can’t even really mount a good defense; I would suggest shutting up and letting Mueller finish his investigation. Up till then, it’s a bit of “he said/he said.” Karl Rove and Newt Gingrich are on Fox; Rove knows a lot about leaking, after all. Nice dog and pony show, I’ll bet the base is eating it up.The rest of us recognize wrongdoing and coverups when we see them. Lotsa luck, Donald.

But according to my pro-Trump in-laws, “many people are saying” that Comey testified there was “no collusion, no obstruction.”

Trumpers gotta Trump.

Who ya gonna believe, the growing crowd of ex-DOJ officials Trump has fired because they were investigating him or Trump and his mob lawyer?

In the coming Democratic administration that replaces the smoldering ruins of the Trumptastrophe…

I kinda like the sound of “Attorney General Preet Bharara”.

The NY Times has debunked this latest conspiracy. They tracked it to the source and exposed the routes by which it infected the dumbass trump supporters. It won’t matter, the trump supporters are truth resistant. The ones in my FB feed still believe Seth Rich hacked the DNC, not the Russians.

I think that depends on whether they get to keep the ill gotten gains of his time as grifter-in-chief. They have no conscience or sense of guilt to interfere with their material pleasures.

“So-called coward!!!”

Attorney General Jeff Sessions was scheduled to testify publicly next Tuesday before the House and Senate appropriations committees. On Saturday, he abruptly canceled.
In letters to the chairmen of the committees, Sessions writes that he will send his deputy, Rod Rosenstein, to the hearing instead. In explaining the cancellation, Sessions writes that he believed that members of the committees were planning on asking him about “issues related to the investigation into Russian interference with the 2016 election.”

Instead of testifying publicly before the appropriations committees, where these matters could be discussed in the light of day, Sessions will appear before the Senate Intelligence Committee. The Washington Post and USA Today report that Sessions’ appearance is expected to be closed.

Why should we have to hear from the monkey when we can hear from the organ grinder?

Special Prosecutor would let him concentrate his efforts without the distractions of the other responsibilities of the AG position. But I’m good with either.

Doesn’t matter until McConnell says it.

I’m surprised Muller hasn’t hired Bharara considering his work and how he was probably already looking into Trump’s Russian ties.

But then again, Trump’s damage control team could claim conflict of interest since Trump did fire Bharara after lying to him, so it’s best not to risk anything at this point.

If an obstruction case can be brought, has ironclad evidence behind it, and the Republicans sit on it, (and assuming the Clintonite hand wringers are ejected from party leadership in favor of people who aren’t running away from the left’s principles.) The Democrats can steal Trump’s slogan of ‘draining the swamp’ and dust off ‘the culture of corruption’ that they used in 2006 and could probably just ride that to taking control of the House in 2018. (And hoping the they make gains on the local and state levels.)

Outside of those who are beyond salvation in the Trump Cult, nobody likes a person who is seen as above the law.

The above clip leaves out the most interesting parts. Here’s a longer version. https://twitter.com/ABCPolitics/status/873893311353823232

Bharara describes how Trump called him 3 times to “shoot the breeze,” which he found highly unusual and inappropriate. The third time he refused to take the call and notified the Justice Dept.

Also he talks–theoretically of course–about the possibility that he or another prosecutor from NY might be investigating Trump for “various things” or for “business interests”. Hint, hint?

Obstruction is going to be the least of his worries. I’m still very concerned about the collusion allegations still sitting out there.

I love it when lawyers talk careful. And, he’s right. Prima facie it looks like obstruction. But can you prove it to a jury or a judge? That’s the rub.
