Discussion: Bezos Probing Whether National Enquirer Publishing Texts Was Politically Motivated

Trump: YES. And there is much more to come.

I am not familiar with PIs–other than tRump sending them to Hawaii,LOL–so what can they do? Bribe someone on Enquirer staff?

I hope it turns out it was because of some Amazon related ad tracker on his phone’s browser…

Don’t know what to do with this thought, but my first thought with this story was, “This is going to end with finding that government resources were used to get those texts.”

Adults are free to do what they please so long as it’s legal. What goes on within private relationships is the business of the people in those relationships, and we don’t know what was acceptable between Bezos and his wife. However, once you achieve great notoriety, wealth, power and status an extramarital affair almost never ends well, for some or all of the people involved. The participants have to know that going in, they’ve witnessed the very bad results for others in the same situation. So, maybe don’t do it, or at least divorce your partner or separate from them first.

Or at least have the good sense to stick to underage Russian hookers provided by the FSB.

Lordy - Let’s not awaken THAT sleeping political giant…

SMS is not encrypted. iMessage is suppose to be secure. On Android, you would need some third party app for secure communications. My understanding from the internet is that iMessage and other secure apps are hard enough to break that even under trump it would be near impossible to get this done for personal harassment purposes.

Indeed–but which government? Doubt there’s much love for Trump in US LE.
Even odds it’s the Russians protecting their asset.

Bezos, like Mueller, has practically limitless resources. Only Bezos can take as much time as he needs, doesn’t report to anyone, and can also make life hell for Trump if he was in any way involved. Though he lacks subpoena power, he can probably turn the information over to a USAG if crimes were committed.

For anyone, wealth only makes sure that the MSM and tabloids pick up on the story.

With Bezos amounts of money you can afford to hire people like Christopher Steele who are well connected to intelligence sources.

One positive result of the last five years – the ever-lovin’ Public is losing it’s enchantment for very rich people (who screw up their lives just like the rest of us, only at large.)

I wish that were so, but I don’t believe it is. I don’t think it ever will be. I will settle for a broader realization that business practices do not make good governmental practices.

To be sure, we Americans have a fantastic capacity for self-delusion. Steinbeck’s definition works here, no matter how little money we have we all think we’re temporarily embarrassed millionaires.
And.
I really, really hate tossing about the pejorative “fascist” too loosely. But in the case of a “businessman” running for political office, I have to remind everyone that the original model, Italian Fascism, was ideologically based on the “Corporate State”. Corporations, run from the top down, with the putative brake of a Board of Directors – or the Fascist Grand Council. And in my brief and limited life, I have never met a CEO who didn’t think like Mussolini.

Now, that said, if someone starts in one of the traditional fields, education, business or military, and gains experience in things governmental, from the ground up, that’s different. (I Like Ike.)
