How pathetic.

Did not realize that Fox has not hosted a Democratic primary debate since 2004…Wow.

Wow. I’m not sure how this helps his campaign.

Is HRC boycotting faux news? If so, good for her!

So he is going to be on Fox bashing Hillary for a hour. Remind me, what ticket is he running for?

They also have a debate this Sunday and next Wednesday, so its not like there is some big time gap with no debates.

Bernie is going after the voters that he is already good with while running away from the voters he’s having the most problems with. If he really thinks he has problems with AA and Latino voters because of unfamiliarity, he should be campaigning directly to those demographics.

If I were a campaign manager for Bernie Sanders(not my occupation, but bear with me) he would be calling in to Russ Parr, Tom Joyner and all the other syndicated urban morning shows. I’d have him on Telemundo and Univision doing sit down interviews of every type so that he could become a familiar entity. He’s trying to make up 25 years of history that the Clintons have with those groups in a few short months and he’s not doing nearly enough.

I have tried to stay very neutral in this primary because I really liked both candidates but I must admit that Sanders tone is becoming nastier by the day. I guess it’s because he doesnt see a legitimate path forward and thinks by joining the bandwagon against her he an drive down her numbers. Someone mentioned that he’s a very grumpy guy who rarely laughs and when he does, it seems forced.

The more progressive of the two, which is why he’s not torpedoing the left with a third party. Do you expect him to just lie down and let her win because she’s more ingrained in the Democratic party? I really don’t understand why so many people hate on him for being progressive and for fighting for the nomination. I’m not saying I agree with everything he’s done. I wish both of them ran cleaner campaigns because for the most part we all agree on a lot of things.

I think President Clinton should have their press credentials pulled.
It’ll give them a new “-gate” scandal to talk about through her re-election.

Excellent suggestion. They are pooular radio hosts with good followings

I think it gives him an unfettered forum to make his last minute pitch without any immediate, personal contrast with HRC.

It’s Fox News… They are going to repeatedly ask him questions to have him attack Clinton.

I remember back when Obama was starting to get traction in the AA community before Iowa- people forget that he was losing badly to Hillary- one thing he did was call into urban stations regularly to give light interviews with those hosts. It gains you familiarity and it’s free media. It’s a no-brainer. So when he came shooting out of Iowa on a rocket, the AA community was familiar with him already and didn’t need to scramble to know who he was. He also used those avenues to drive turnout in the lead up to his election and reelection to drive up numbers in those areas.

Of course his already loyal supporters will most certainly be happy wherever the venue is and whoever the host is. But it’s meaningless, and given it’s Fox even counterproductive, if his campaign means to expand the already narrow path by reaching out to those demographic groups skeptical about him.

I disagree with that completely. I don’t think his running a third party campaign would necessarily hurt the Dems. From what I’ve seen so far, Clinton is FAR more popular with diverse populations of Democrats. Sanders is popular with White males who see the gov’t. as the enemy. The longer this goes on, I wish Sanders had run on a third party platform and hopefully, the DNC will have learned it’s lesson about letting “Independents” run on their ticket.

The benefit of Sanders on the Dem ticket is to Sanders NOT to the Dems.

I don’t hear people hating on him for being progressive. I’m watching him now to see if he goes after her now that he is almost certainly not the nominee. It’ll tell me a lot about his character if he thinks it’s okay to take down the presumptive nominee that will be likely going against the most dangerous character to ever hold the nomination of a major party. That will let me know if his ego overrides his principle.

Hillary Clinton WAS invited and had to decline due to scheduling problems.

  • The war against Donald Trump has now begun and Hillary seems more focused on defeating her presumptive eventual GOP opposite rather than attacking her Democratic opponent.

  • If Bernie Sanders wants to win over independents, he’s going to have to make his appeal to them via their media outlets.

What a brilliant strategy. Really, when I think of a media outlet that appeals to a large majority of black people of all ages and socioeconomic levels, it’s radio. Outside of large cities there are really only about a half dozen nationally syndicated radio shows on urban radio stations. It’s very, very low hanging fruit that allows a candidate to appeal to millions.
