Discussion for article #246970
Awesome. I can’t wait to see the vote totals, to see how many more Dem’s showed up vs. the Republican caucus. I am a supporter of both Bernie and Hillary… and hope we can keep momentum going to counter the craziness that is sure to come out of Cleveland. Well done Bernie!
Interesting to watch the candidates of the different parties. While Sanders and Clinton have differences and disagreements, they have remained relatively civil. Any outliers have been buried under the non-stop “my dick is bigger than yours” fights on the other side of the aisle.
He needed to break 70% to net a single pledged delegate this weekend. He didn’t. H+201
So this one is mostly on target for both candidates? Bernie may be one or two delegates above the mark.
Great turnout. Good job Democrats!
Will MSNBC show the victory speech? Not likely. They’ll be waiting, breathlessly speculating on whether Drumpf will be coming out soon with some diarrheic utterance.
Anyway, congrats Bernie.
According to papers in Maine, the turnout was so huge that a State Senator is going to propose a bill replacing the caucuses with a primary

Even the Chicago Trib has a story up about it
You need to make the font bigger on that headline, TPM. It’s not sensationalistic enough.
After all, it still fits on my screen.
Pine Tree State voters waited in hours-long lines on Sunday to caucus in the Democratic race. Maine Democratic Party chairman Phil Bartlett told the Portland Press Herald that the turnout was “extraordinary,” and the city of Portland was required to change the caucus rules to allow all voters to participate. Voters waiting on snaking lines were allowed to fill out paper ballots rather than participate in the traditional, town hall style caucus.
It´s the damnedest thing really. The NYT and TPM declare Sanders the walking dead, practically, yet he keeps on winning a lot of states.
Go figure.
At least this one didn’t have a “NO PUB” attached
Remember this sweet little boy? He died of SIDS a few days ago at four months old. Very sad for the family and Bernie will feel it too. His name was Oliver Jack Carter Lomas-Davis
That was too sad. The poor kid. The poor family.
Wow, he won Maine. I guess that means he gets the nomination now, right?
Yes, she´s showing her unstoppableness more and more every day.
Congratulations, Senator Sanders! I personally support Hillary Clinton for President – but I am also very happy Senator Sanders decided to run and that he’s doing so well. The Democratic Party needed a wake-up call or a reminder that there still are far far too many people who are literally immobilized by the globalization the economy has undergone so quickly.
That said, I want it to be known that should Senator Sanders win the nomination, I will proudly vote for Senator Sanders for President. I hope we can all agree that handing the White House back over to the Republicans–any of them–is just not a sane option. I also plan to vote Democratic the whole ticket. Thank you. And, again, congrats, Sen. Sanders!
Quite a contrast to the Southern states with low turnout. The lines I saw video of were simply incredible.
right on
And so does Hillary, especially when the states aren’t lily-white.
