Kellyanne Conway’s husband: Who’s more credible, Trump or the New York Times? 93% of voters are on same page
Since Sanders is not a Dem, he needs to run as a third party candidate, otherwise isn’t he just a troll?
Notably, three of Sanders’ four campaign co-chairs are nonwhite, a sign that Sanders is making a heavy effort to reverse his campaign’s male-dominated, heavily white 2016 campaign structure.
Nope. Won’t work. I have no issue with Saint Bernard this time around because he’s gong no where.
ETA:
Sanders’ other co-chairs are Ohio state Sen. Nina Turner (D), who’s headed the pro-Sanders Our Revolution PAC,
Wait, she’s still a State Senator? Really?
“Every 50 years, there is someone who can fundamentally alter the course of American politics,”
Like Donald Trump?
No, Bernie is not that person.
I’d rather he run as a Dem. If he loses in the primary, he’s out. If he runs Indy, he will split the Dem vote in the General.
“Every 50 years, there is someone who can fundamentally alter the course of American politics,” Khanna said in a statement released by Sanders’ campaign. “Bernie Sanders has the chance to reorient our economic policy towards workers and communities left behind instead of corporate interests and to reorient our foreign policy to prioritize peace, diplomacy and restraint instead of war.”
I doubt he can split the Dem vote because there are too many very qualified candidates running now. In 2016, it was Saint Bernard and SoS Clinton and he sucked all the oxygen out of the room for O’Malley. Now, we have so many candidates who are so much more appealing, i don’t see how he could get enough votes to pose a threat.
While I also prefer that he ran as a Democrat, it’s going to be interesting to see him answer the 3p questions.
Soon, in a very near future, perhaps in only a month or so, all TPM stories will be about Bernie candidacy and no one else’s. Won’t that be special?
He’ll get the “Jacobin” vote but that’s about it. I’m not concerned about the far-left plank so much as i am concerned about the “center left/right” plant. Governor Hogan comes to mind.
Don’t underestimate the Russian trolls recruited to split the Dem vote and the dumbfuck “both sides are the same” American voter. Glen Greenwald is at it already. I like Bernie, but note how Trump never says a bad word about him? Putin and Trump would love for Bernie to run Indy.
I like CORPORATIONS; they run business’ that employ thousands of AMERICANSs…i refuse to vote against mine and my families best interests…it takes brains. work and skill to create a corporation…I am a capitalist, I am not a socialist…I have given myself a new identity…Liberal Independent Capitalist.
saw of picture of BERNIE the other day…it looks like he may have been bo-toxed…I don’t read much of TPM THESEdays, am tired of everlasting tweets of TRUMPfs being posted…same will apply to SANDERS.
That didn’t help in '16. Bernie lost the primary and still split the Dem vote in the general. There’s no reason not to suppose he and his supporters won’t do the same in '20.
Loved the weasel wording in that quote, since literally every candidate has that same “chance.” Conspicuously absent from his remarks is any indication of just how Bernie will actually do that.
Funny. In just the last half hour, I was texted by the Bernie organization. I replied that there are a lot of good younger candidates this cycle, and that I’d really rather vote for a Democrat.
This is gonna get nasty.
Rainbows and unicorns. It’s all rainbows and unicorns these days.
i totally agree that Putin and his puppet would love for that to happen. And your point re: Greenwald is really true. But, - our candidates are going to be putting forth leftwing policies that can be accepted by a majority of the country and, I assume, will withstand some scrutiny. The Jacobin crowd is taken; whoever stayed on that train from 2016 isn’t getting off now. SoS Clinton was seen as being too centrist/rightwing. I don’t see that as an issue now.
