Good. This is the way to make real change. I warn folks doing this – it takes time, and you can’t quit and walk away if you haven’t gotten everything you wanted in five years.
Sanders is not a Democrat, yet he uses and abuses the Democratic Party then shits on it. In my county we have Labor lobbyists and union officials embedded in county politics, central committee, and clubs. They used labor money, facilities, and workers to get their “Progressive/Labor” delegate slates elected. I gave them credit until an acquaintance confided her new delegate position and career is beholding to labor. A faction of our county’s Progressive caucus, along with Bernie Sanders, spearheaded the infamous movement to primary President Obama in 2012. It was ugly and the caucus chairwoman got spanked hard over it. Just want to mention that corporate money isn’t the only entity that influences politics and life for the rest of us, and that Dems have our own purity group (teaparty) equivalent in the far left. Democrats aren’t just Clinton or Sanders Democrats; our party is wonderfully diverse with multiple layers. Good leaders respect diversity, find common ground and values, then work together to fight something much bigger than “not being Progressive enough.”
