A man dies and goes to heaven. St. Peter is showing him around. St Peter points out that, while different, the houses are all the same size, with the same amenities. St Peter takes the man into a department store. The clothes are all different, but the same price point. St. Peter explains that in heaven, all are equal and Heaven is run on the principle of egalitarianism. St Peter takes the man into the Heaven cafeteria. “See - here it’s first come first serve.”
All of a sudden a man in a white lab coat, with a stethoscope around his neck, rushes in and cuts into the front of the line. “Who is that?” the man asks St Peter.
St. Peter answers: “That’s God. He thinks he’s a doctor.”

Just because Wilson is white and Brown was black doesn’t mean Brown’s shooting had anything to do with race, BUT in this case if you look at the us v. them mentality of the Ferguson PD, it is impossible the Brown shooting doesn’t have racial overtones.

Like how this was a responsible kid headed off to college, basically shot for being in a black neighborhood in the vicinity of a robbery?

I do believe that many young people, of all races and backgrounds, have issues dealing with legitimate authority, attention to education, personal responsibility, alcohol and drug use, and other character-related things.
What Carson is unable or unwilling to understand is that this doesn’t mean that black Americans aren’t victims of racist law enforcement.

He is an example of transferred-authority syndrome, in which a person with great expertise in one discipline thinks that that confers authority in an unrelated one. This was on view during the Vietnam War, where people like Noam Chomsky–a great linguist–believed that his eminence in that field gave him special insight into the politics of the war.

The black-on-black crime meme must end. The actual statistics are that 87% percent of white people are killed by other white people and 88% of black people are killed by other black people. So if we’re going to discuss something called black-on-black crime, then we had better discuss white-on-white crime too.
