Discussion: Ben Carson Struggles Questions About Debt Ceiling

Discussion for article #241534

It would be news if Carson fielded a question he didn’t struggle with.

The man must be some sort of savant when it comes to neurosurgery because outside of that very limited field of endeavor, he is a flaming moron of epic proportions.

People who support him are confused. They think just because he is a respected surgeon that he must be intelligent about everything. We are seeing everyday how little he knows about the job he is running for. The first rule of medicine is to “do no harm to the patient”…Carson should follow this advice and stay out of things he knows nothing about.

BTW, I would love for Carson’s ideas to somehow be workable in my personal life. I would love to eat a fine meal at a restaurant then “restructure” how much that debt (aka “the check”) is.

Brilliant!

Shorter Ben: “Debt! Can’t live with it, can’t live without it. Just rush forward to tackle it, I guess.”

Seriously, if you went into a job interview and provided vague, disinterested, and evasive answers to every question you were asked would you expect to be hired for that position? That is what is so frustration about the GOP candidates. They clearly have no clue about nothing, yet think they are qualified for one of the most high profile and demanding job on the planet.

without adequate anesthesia, I get nervous when I hear a surgeon use the word ‘cut’ so often.

See Ben eventually that fact free zone that both you and the Donald live in will bite that ass big time.

Congress authorizes the amount of money to be spent. The budget ceiling is nothing more than the amount of money that the federal government can borrow to pay for the bills Congress has already authorized.

I had the misfortune of listening to this interview yesterday while I was driving. That voice of his, trying to discuss the debt ceiling when he clearly does not understand what that is–or, for that matter, when he clearly doesn’t understand the other things Ryssdal asked him about–caused me to be less than alert as a driver.

Jesus Christ Almighty. This is empty-headed idiocy that exceeds any other GOP candidate I can think of. Trump, Palin, Bachmann, Santorum, as nuts and ignorant as any of them are, I think any one of them would understand if you explained the debt limit. And they’d understand it’s a third rail for the entire worldwide economy, you have to have the country pay its bills, there’s not a choice about it. And this one literally doesn’t understand. Staggering.

Wow. If you don’t get the debt ceiling, please, for the love of all that is holy and right and just in the universe, please keep talking about it into an open mic, you stupid stupid fuck.

His supporters saw him ‘stand up’ to Obama at the prayer breakfast. Add to this mixture the ‘Hillary/Jeb’ hate, Donald Trump, Ted Cruz, the Fiorina spotlight and all of the establishment GOP candidates going out there and yelling ‘me too’, Islam vs Christianity and same sex marriage; and a very nasty ‘cocktail’ is ready to be produced.

All that’s needed now is a lit match and 'all is well’.

Side note: Just learnt that November 5th is Guy Fawkes day. Yayyyy
