Discussion for article #243126
it’s always easier to learn and absorb something you’re interested in than wade thru something that you view as obscure, oblique and nuanced beyond comprehension…
tunnel vision is good for focus… target blindness not so much…
"I think anybody with normal intellect knows exactly what I'm saying."
That’s your problem —
For the life of me, I have no comprehension of what Carson’s appeal is to any one. He wants to be President as his post-surgical career hobby, and we should take him seriously as he explores this? Are American nuts? I know, I know. There’s lots of evidence for that.
Carson is standing by his support for monitoring groups he describes as “anti-American”
SCOTUS has issued many rulings regarding personal possession of firearms. The cumulative effect very much reinforces the wide scope of the 2nd Amendment as to personal possession of firearms, permitting acquisition through the most minimal of regulations and restrictions. SCOTUS rulings are to be respected, decrees of a very "American" judicial system. I suppose President Carson could proclaim groups working for more strict regulation of firearms were "Anti-American".
Carson said, “I think anybody with normal intellect knows exactly what I’m saying.”
In this country "normal intellect" entails the ability to open a beer, turn on the TV and scratch your ass. The GOP target audience.
We need to see the proof of that. He’s been demonstrating a stunning loss of cognitive ability for quite a while, and getting away with it–so far–by throwing around his “political correctness” slam. where’s the physical, mental health evaluation? something is not right with this candidate.
capacity … probably. Likelihood?
Republican presidential candidate Ben Carson likens his learning foreign
policy to his ability to absorb changing complex medical practices.
If his ability to keep up with new medical practices bears any relationship to his display of foreign policy knowledge, I think I understand why he is longer performing surgery.
If God can beam the answers to a chemistry final directly into his brain, then why is God allowing him to struggle so much with, well, everything else. Is God trying to tell him something?
I think Doc Ambien’s telling Him that what He said was not what He meant, or should have meant.
Ben Carson Promises He Has The Capacity To Learn Foreign Policy
The troubling question to this is, from whom will he be learning? Thus far, what we know about his advisers is disquieting at best and scary at worst. Add to that his apparent gross misunderstandings of American history, government, world affairs, etc. do not bode well for his objective learning and and cognitive assimilation of the knowledge base a President should start with.
When gay marriage is discussed, someone opposed to it on religious grounds will inevitably ask “But…but…what about the will of the people?”
Yeah, what about the will of the people and gun control? Well, that’s a Constitutional right. Gay marriage is part of the liberal, anti-American war on Xtianity. We can vote to take rights away from minorities, but not to regulate guns for the majority.
PS: I actually saw a Ben Carson for President bumper sticker today. They’re out there, folks…
More importantly - drug test.
But he needs to demonstrate that he has the policy credentials and the temperament to be president.
I think the real point is that he has demonstrated those things…and proved that he’s utterly incompetent. In short, You Can’t Fix Dumb!
" … because I’m getting a brain implant " .
We tried hiring someone who required lots of OTJ training from 2001 - 2009. It did not work out very well.
