Discussion for article #236608
Did he go on to say, âAs a conservative, I would have favored a non-invasive procedure. The larger question is: who should have paid for the surgical strike? You donât want to free a people, and then have the result be worse than slavery.â
Pray tell us - just how would he have removed Saddam if that was so necessary and desirable. Looks like heâs dancing, too. The GOP just canât own up to the voluntary disaster of Iraq. The implication is that Obama is the culprit.
TPM:
âIâve said definitively that I was never in favor of going into Iraq,â he [Ben Carson] told The Hill.
And there goes the GOPâs neo-con wing waving bye-bye in the distance.
âWhen you go into a situation with so many factions and such a complex history, unless you know what youâre doing or have a long-term strategy, it just creates more problems,â he said.
Finally, Carson delivers his first inkling of a lick of common sense. But he doesnât quite connect the dots. American Presidents good and bad have a long, bipartisan, Cold War history of choosing our friends poorly. Ben Carson is no likelier than any of them to know what heâs doing. A âstrategyâ is no better than a guess under those conditions.
Me either, Ben. But like me, you will never be president.
âWhen you go into a situation with so many factions and such a complex history, unless you know what youâre doing or have a long-term strategy, it just creates more problems, he said.â
There you have it. 12 years. 12 years is all conservatives needed in order to understand what us big awful liberals knew and were saying from the get-go. Now if we can only get them to understand everything else, like economics, social, healthcare and other domestic issues.
I call bullshit. Easy for him to say now, but in 2003 he would have been one of the people screaming âTRAITOR!!!â at war protesters.
QuoteFix:
Ben Carson: âI Was Never In Favor Of Going Into Iraqâ
Dr Carson elucidated stating:
âThough like everyone else in the political environment of 2003â
I would never have said so aloud back then-- or I wouldnât be able to grift the (R)ubes today.
So yeah-- you can call me opportunistic-- but Iâm raking some serious bank in the next 12 months!â

He WAS however in favor of NUKING every âGodless Muslimâ country from orbit.
wow, now you are really going off the deep end. and you did not even mention science, which they would like us to believe is fiction.
None of these white-striped yellow-bellied âpatriotsâ liked the idea of going to IraqâŚ
But as long as it was someone else who had to go, they were fine with it.
How many green National Guard men and women who never dreamed in their worst nightmare they might have to kill and/or die for bush when they signed up for that college money, never had that option?
