Discussion for article #232308
Sure. If Congress doesn’t agree with something the President does, they can just remove him from office. If Congress doesn’t agree with something a Federal judge does, they can just remove him from office.
As long as the Congress is in G.O.P. hands, of course. Otherwise…
He and Huckabee want a job that requires defending a Constitution they so clearly don’t understand.
Any law on marriage should be decided by a popular referendum, and any decisions made by courts are “unconstitutional,” justifying dismissal of judges, he added.
I find it especially horrifying that a black man would say such a thing and without a hint of self-awareness.
“Values and principles cannot be drummed out of us," Carson said. "They’re going to try, and the only way we maintain a country with values and principles is we have to be brave enough to stand up for what we believe.”
Agreed. That’s why this Christian stands with the president, stands with the LGBT community, believes in gay marriage, and believes its our duty to care for “the least of these”.
Be thankful they will be around for entertainment value though.
It’s shocking that he seems to not realize that if it had been left to popular referendum, there is every chance we would still have slavery today, not to mention school segregation, and jim crow laws…
or maybe he does know and in that case it’s just shocking how far people will go when they are pandering for votes.
There is SOOOOO much money to be made pandering to the ignorant voters that keep the 1% in power. So much freaking money…And Ben wants a lot of it.
Ben Carson shows as much knowledge of the American political system and the American principles of democracy as Louis Gohmert probably has of neurosurgery.and of the American principles of democracy.
We should have a referendum on whether crazy black doctors should be allowed to speak in public. If the public votes in favor, then I guess he should shut up.
Idiot.
Hope he runs. He’s worse than Herman Cain.
I “went” to an eye doctor that had some of this “guy’s” views. He was so loud about his liking of our Senator Rand Paul; you know, Ron Paul’s little boy.
Mr. Carson is free to disagree with court rulings but he’s not free to disobey them. If he or anyone does they should be thrown in jail and prosecuted to the fullest extent the law they disrespect allows.
Behold circular logic. Seems like it would also be a dangerous world where judges live in fear of the political moods of the Congress. In principle the only way to remove them should be if the are not doing their jobs or actively flouting the law. And even the later gets complicated as to what that means based on different lines of legal thinking.
It seems to be a natural tendency to make (or at least try to) god in our own image.
He is an ignoranting fool and what he wants to do is unconstitutional.
He is continually showing that he does not know what the rule of law and not that of flawed and corrupted men is and he is pushing an unAmerican conservative ideology with his antiAmerican POV.
Carson has apparently been performing unsuccessful neuro surgery on himself. Again.
Purging the judiciary based solely on ideology and party loyalty? Sounds like something the Nazis would do.
Are we allowed to use Nazi analogies in this case, or is that something only Ben Carson can get away with?
Weird when a brilliant neurosurgeon comes of sounding like he could use a brilliant neurosurgeon…
“When judges do not carry out their duties in an appropriate way, our Congress actually has the right to reprimand or remove them,” Carson said. Any law on marriage should be decided by a popular referendum,"
Yes, that’s exactly what people used to say about equal rights for Dr. Carson’s ancestors.
