No, he didn’t actually say his intelligence was from the Pentagon, or a Pentagon source. Its from “briefings” he received plus their own “intelligence” from people on the ground (possibly the same briefing…they like to keep things vague like that for future damage control…a huge tell in and of itself).
Now as far as people on the ground, to the best of my knowledge, besides the inevitable and necessary pilgrimage to Israel that every candidate makes before launching a campaign (Carson took his last Dec), the man has not visited the Middle East. Or China. Or Russia for that matter (or even met with Putin in a green room!). So who these “people on the ground” actually are, should raise some eyebrows, too.
And to keep in perspective, last night/early this morning, the Kurds launched a coordinated offensive with our Air backing into western Iraq. We are also coordinating an attack with the Iraqi’s more to the east. And of course we have special forces coordinating air attacks in northern Syria. So our actual “people on the ground” are kind of busy at this moment…and none of these offensives are being launched against Chinese troops. (there are actual reporters in each place…and a Chinese army would tend to stand out a bit to them).
I won’t even bother going into the absurdity of the rightwing conspiracy theory that the Chinese and Russians are allied and working together. Just read some history on the two countries, and some analysis of their current positions regarding each other and enjoy a good laugh at that notion. North and South Korea are more likely to be involved in allied operations together.

I think the thing with Noah is he has always looked at the US as an outsider whereas Jon Stewart (and us) have seen the slow and steady slide into stupidity we are experiencing in this country.

Are these robo-calls or people phone banking?
If the latter, engage them for as lint as you can afford.
The more time you get them to spend on the phone, the more time and money it costs them and it ties at least one phone line and person up and stops them from bilking some possible rube for a bit.
Don’t know why you folks are making fun of Ben. His source of information comes from Joseph of the Bible. Joseph has his Central Command at one of the pyramids. Joseph’s brothers have infiltrated the Syrian Army and ISIS.
He threatened to stab them if they didn’t tell. Or hit them with a hammer in the head. Or lock them in a biology lab…or a pyramid. Or --> worst case scenario: Commission a picture painted of them with Jesus!

Probably some Xtian home-schooler found this questionable nugget of information online, passed it along to their mom, who in turn passed it along to their local home-schooling group, who in turn passed it along to HDLDA, a home-schoolers legal defense advocacy group that has had Ben speak, for a hefty fee of course, at their annual confab. See?..That’s how ‘intelligence’ is gathered these days…by all the right people in-the-know.

My 82-year-old dad says, oh, how interesting, just a second, then puts the phone on the table and goes back to watching tv. They can’t disconnect, and they can’t call someone else. He noticed a significant drop in calls after he did it a couple of times. Thinks there’s a list of "don’t call this number ".
His biggest laugh is that he fits the GOP profile (old, white, Midwestern) but is blue through and through.

To a number of commenters making their points in terms of vaguely racist cliches & jokes - at least vaguely: there’s no suggestion at all that anyone from China has anything at all to do with Carson’s claims.
It’s totally unsurprising that people fail to resist the urge to mock Carson about this; after all, his track record suggests he deserves to be mocked mercilessly about most things he’s said in public, possibly all the time. But China, citizens of China, and Chinese Americans, have done nothing to deserve any of this surge of, I suppose, “wit” - whereas Carson deserves even more than he’s received already.

A very strange campaign. Why didn’t media ask who the sources were? When you say Chinese, in what capacity are you talking about? If they are there, what are they doling and why are they doing it. I was recently in Yellowstone park and the “Chinese were there, too” but they were just taking pictures. I’m sorry but even Alex Jones could run a saner campaign than this guy.

This disturbed man now has two patterns: 1. Tell a lie, double down, then play the victim when called out 2. Tell a lie, blame the media for exposing him, then claim conspiracy.
Either way, he’s one of the sickest presidential “candidates” this country has ever produced.
