So WaPo and the Times are assuming McGahn himself leaked the story - they’re speculating it was either to save himself or that Trump was close to firing Mueller again (or both). Since the obstruction charge seems to airtight now, what can Congress do (or of course not do) if he’s charged with it? Does Congress have to act? TPM legal minds?

Well, think of all the famous geniuses throughout history. How many were blockheads? Besides Von Neumann, I can’t think of one.
I have to say that Hannity made a seamless “Look over there!” after having to correct the story. His “many” (boy, they like that word) sources were just a bit slow on the uptake. I guess they’re not in the secret society loop.
The leaks are coming from inside the White House or Congress, not the Special Council.

Oh, I have no doubt in my mind that Faux News and its army of alt-right orcs are working very closely with the “loyal” WH orcs. VERY closely.

I guess it is best to try to laugh, but I find it absolutely terrifying the depths to which FoxNews and the Republicans in congress are willing to lie and distort and the degree to which they went from “Never Trump” to defending Trump at all costs in such a short period of time. I’m thinking that at its heart it is much more than protecting Trump or even crass policy goals–there is something rotten to its core with the current GOP and it is truly disturbing.
Yes, he said he’d discuss it tomorrow. Which tomorrow would that be?
