Discussion: Barr: Yep, Trump's Personal Lawyers, WH Reviewed Redacted Report In Advance

“The president’s personal lawyers were not permitted to make and did not request any redactions.”

Well, why would they need to with their personal legal lackey (hereinafter referred to as “AG”) already doing what they would do?

The arrogance, it burns.

“Because the White House had voluntarily cooperated with the special counsel"

Oh? Drump had a sit down interview? No??? well that doesn’t seem like cooperating.

Barr also divulged that Trump’s own personal attorneys were granted the opportunity to read a final version of the redacted report earlier this week.

“That request was consistent with the practice following under the ethics in government act which permitted individuals named in a report prepared by an independent counsel the opportunity to read the report before publication,”

Then why was everybody on Trump team saying that they had not seen the report? Now we are expected to believe that only the redacted version was shown…

Before Congress…wow. No ‘collusion’ there. Good thing that’s not a LEGAL term right Bill?

“the President confirmed that in the interests of transparency and full disclosure to the American people, he would not assert privilege over the special counsel’s report.”

Awww, what a guy, the prez.

Assuming this is even true (that donnie - or rather, his lawyers, because we can be sure donnie himself didn’t read the report - didn’t ask for additional redactions), it’s obvious that the reason no additional redactions were asked for is because Barr had already redacted anything damaging.

I’m beginning to think that, if I’m going to live in a banana republic, I might as well move somewhere with a better climate.

A comment on Twitter last night pointed out that Barr summarized the report, redacted the report, briefed the White House on the report, and gave a press conference on the report - all before allowing Congress to see it. Guess we can add “gave it to Individual-1’s lawyers to review” to the litany. Fucking depressing.

Clearer Barr: “If there was no “collusion” before there sure is now, the President and I colluded.”

In response, the democratic leadership will tweet and issue politely worded letters “requesting” people appear before congress.

We’re getting our asses handed to us, and the democrats we elected are crocheting instead of throwing around their considerable power.

We’re going to lose this, because we’re not prepared to do what’s necessary.

I admire Mrs. Pelosi. I admire her service and dedication to our country. However, we need a war time consigliere as Speaker. She’s been too ensconced in politics for too long to discern between what’s right and what’s politically expedient. She can no longer differentiate between the two.

Remember when conservatives freaked out when Bill Clinton met Loretta Lynch on a tarmac:

I eagerly await the same treatment of this Barr/Trump lawyer meeting /sarcasm.

So now we actually are in a dictatorship. Barr should resign in disgrace, or face the music when this ends, because Trump ALWAYS fails. They all need to rot in jail for their destruction of our democracy.

Somehow this feels like a long first half of a first inning. And we have not come up to bat yet.

Didn’t Barr promise that he wasn’t going to give the president any heads up before Congress? Since the President had already stated that he wouldn’t use executive privilege?

Now I don’t believe that DJT’s lawyers have not seen the whole clean report. The man who gave that presser would certainly give Trump the unredacted file.

Mere incarceration is kind. Traitors should be hung.

You’ve got me thinking of that old quote “History doesn’t repeat itself but it often rhymes.”

This is a lot like how the initial Barr summary played but maybe nobody’s taking the bait this time.

At least if MSNBC is any indication.
