Perhaps an unintended consequence of this is that it hardens the Democrats and speeds things up.
There’s more than one journalist that enjoys getting digs in on Trump in front of a press pool. One of them, during a sit down like Trump held yesterday in the Oval Office with Orbán, should ask Trump “When are you going to reveal the results of the investigation you held over Obama’s birth origins? You know, where you publicly boasted you had people in Hawaii reporting amazing, unbelievable things back to you? Just what were those amazing facts?”

I’m unfamiliar with Barr’s income streams pre-Trump appointment. I’ve read he’s well heeled and connected, so probably doesn’t lack for business opportunities. However, with these guys no amount of money, power and influence is seemingly ever enough. I can see Barr thinking a short 1-2 year stint protecting Trump would enamor him with a few additional important people, so much so they funneled even more opportunities and money his way than he had access to pre-Trump.

Both Barr’s daughter and son-in-law have jobs in the traitor_tRump administration. That’s the payoff I see.
Goodness knows if they keep Barr in line with kompromat, but it seems similar carrots-and-sticks are being used on other GOPers.

So, knowing that Trump (like Dotard 1.0 St Ronald Reagan) has not read a book in his entire adult life and receives his historical knowledge from movies, Barr very astutely told Dotard 2.0, “This is the guy who nailed the Boston FBI and Massachusetts State Police who were helping Whitey Bolger. Have you seen Black Mass and The Departed?”
And who also shielded the CIA from any consequences for destruction of torture evidence.

That’s the basic issue isn’t it? If there was a point at which any of these guys would say, “OK that’s enough, I’m good” they wouldn’t be who they are. The greed is bottomless; the willingness to serve that greed utterly unchecked.
