What I don’t understand is, what does LowBarr actually get out of this deal? Is being AG that important to him? Is it the attention? The power? What does he gain??

He gains the satisfaction that his life’s work is nearly completed and he’s been such a good soldier he was able to be effective in covering up wrongdoing across administrations and over many, many years. It’s what he’s always done, but this time he’s getting his name tossed around more because of the internet. Must be a thrill for a fixer like himself to finally reap the glory for what he’s always done.
