Hugo, your post is a failed attempt to deflect from the cheap shot Barney took at Joe Biden
Ouch! Letās not turn on each other now. Leave that to the republi-tards!
Prove heās wrong.
Weāve seen lots and lots of incidents where Obamaās said things heās later apologized for or agreed with questioners he shouldnāt have shot off his mouth about. And Obamaās not nearly the Chatty Cathy that cracker Graham is, or McCain, or any of the Teapers, or ⦠Joebiden. Joebiden, before Obama picked him for veep, was one of the talk-in-front-of-any-camera mostiest in all of Congress.
Now - can you point to stories about unwanted touchings and Joebiden?
Well, Frank isnāt the first liberal or Dem to point out Biden has been a little handsy in some recent public appearances. To wit:
http://thedailyshow.cc.com/videos/yfmksi/the-audacity-of-grope
(In addition to the TPM opinion piece, which, whether or not you agree with it, didnāt come from a Republican.)
Iām canāt say Iām surprised that people would deny it, and I certainly understand sticking up for him when he gets unfairly criticized rather frequently (which is basically Frankās point), but it seems pretty clear to me that heās made a few women uncomfortable. And itās a rather weak link to Frankās scandal to say heās being hypocritical. Weāre talking about Bidenās public behavior vs. a private, possibly inappropriate relationship, and one which he may not have had if he could have been openly gay at the time. I donāt think anyone would be talking about glass houses if he made a similar comment about a Republican who was whispering in a young womanās ear while she had a petrified look on her face.
Or just the voice of bitter experience.
Why? If itās the truth, better a Dem should say it first.
It makes me sick the way Joe Biden paws women and girls. He creeps me out. Not that Barney wasnāt a financial industry whore. Yeah glass houses, but itās true that women donāt like being pawed like Biden loves to paw women.
And a lot of women also remember he was the chair of the judiciary committee and spared Clarence Thomas from the testimony of at least two women who were prepared to back up Anita Hill with stories of their own. He allowed his fellow Senators to savage Anita Hill. More than anyone else, he is responsible for Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas.
Many likes. A womanās POV about being pawed by Joe finally emerges in this thread. Itās creepy, unwelcome and pointless. The photos and videos of those moments are available for anyone to go to, and we donāt need to make a choice on whose side we come down, a retired gay Congressman and an old hustler story, or a current VEEP being āIrishā, āhimselfā, and ācharmingā and so should be overlooked. He overwhelmed the Anita Hill hearings because he loved the sound of his own voice, didnāt listen to Hill, thought Clarence needed a chance, and here we are today.
So, Iāll put you down as ānot a fanā, right Barney?
It may be that Barney is missing the spotlight.
No better way to get it back (these days) than to say something foolish within camera range.
And nowadays weāre always within camera range.
Barneyās written a book, *Frank: A Life in Politics from the Great Society to Same-Sex Marriage, *getting mostly good reviews, and heās out there promoting it. So, he may occasionally spout something perceived as foolish in the midst of occasionally spouting profound. This quote of his should have been cited instead of the Biden nonsense:
He is unsparing, however, in his critique of Republicans, describing George W. Bushās war in Iraq as āthe worst single policy decision any U.S. President has ever made."
