Wow…

Alt-Communism…

With the minty-fresh Republican flavor you have been looking for…

Reminds me of the story of when John Peter Altgeld met Clarence Darrow the day after William Jennings Bryan had convulsed the Democratic Party with his Cross of Gold Speech, in 1896. “Tell me, Clarence,” Altgeld said, "what did he say?

No, it’s anything but communism. Bannon is advocating for government dismantling and rise of autonomous corporations operating in its stead. It’s the kind of dystopia that provides the backdrop for cyberpunk nightmares like Neal Stephenson’s Snow Crash.

It’s horrifying. It must be stopped, or there will be no country left.

There’s a name for Alt-Communism: Fascism.

It sure is reassuring to know that Stephen Miller is working to “reconstruct our trade arrangements around the world.”

Bannon said that there was a “new political order” being formed.

“And it will last for a thousand years!”

Yeah, the villain always gives a long, drawn out speech thinking total victory is his.

And then the ass kicking begins.

There is a reason we don’t do these one-on-one trade agreement’s now. They don’t work.

Edit: Not true, I gather. See reply from ghost.

In other words, unfettered corporate oligarchy. If Bannon, Trump, and his cronies, we will all become indentured servants to corporate oligopoly.

I know Vladimir Ilyich Lenin. I’ve seen Vladimir Ilyich Lenin. I visited Vladimir Ilyich Lenin’s Tomb. Bannon, you’re no Vladimir Ilyich Lenin.

“If the party and the conservative movement are together, similar to Steve and I…"

That would be “Steve and me”, autowanker!

Oh, I like that…

It used to be that liberals sat around cafes discussing philosophy and how to remake the world, oblivious to any sort of practicability. Things sure seem to have changed over the years. Now conservatives live in la-la land and spout out pseudo-intellectual gibberish.

I reached this last paragraph when I was just about to post the same thing.

The irony, of course, is that states like Texas, the plains states and Michigan all helped put Trump in office. But the cows in pasture don’t care about politics. And cowboys rightly don’t care about irony, even if they are to be its first casualties.

Libertarians always somehow get that pass: It’s never worked anywhere–has a track record of no wins–but it’s still got a big following of ardent supporters sure it’s the answer.

“Deconstruction of the administrative state” = Destruction of all the regulatory protections that have been put in place for good reason after each economic, environmental, and social meltdown over the past 80 plus years.

“Economic nationalism” = economic protectionism with no concept or care of how the world economy or trade work, with no regard for the international agreements to which the US is a party, and with no regard to the long-term consequences of such short-sightedness.

Yep, corporate city-states, no protection except from a mobbed-up rent-a-cop police force, food that falls just short of being poisonous and water that doesn’t fall short. All the hits.
