Discussion: Bannon Returns To Breitbart Where He Plans To Keep Boosting Trump

I’d like to find a way to put the focus back on the non-base, the two-thirds of the country thirsty for something other than the Kool-Aid.

When I commented on this a week ago, I thought Bannon was at risk of getting pushed out but I didn’t think Trump would do so because he has no agenda without him. Trump’s unhinged presser changed that calculus. I question what rationale a Trump presidency has without Bannon. A NYT reporter (Mayer) was on Rachel last night saying that Bannon gave some coherence to Trump, which is not his natural state. Therefore, we should expect more incoherence. I think how Trump comes out on Tuesday in Phx will tell. Basically, I think Trump is punch drunk and is wobbly. I don’t see that much gas left in his tank. Ultimately, I can’t predict what will happen until the budget issue is resolved, but I do see it as plausible that he doesn’t make it to the 2018 SOTU. If you made that date the over/under, I wonder what odds Vegas would place for the under.

It’s really unbelievable the coverage this little man gets. Read what he says. A stream of platitudes and grandiose spew.

“In many ways, I think I can be more effective fighting from the outside"

He’s not “fighting” for anything and he’s not on the outside due to his choice. That’s Bannon. A guy so off the mark the Trump administration canned him. He’s nothing but a pudgy sloth with a website. He isn’t going to change the world and he’s no one to fear.

Steve Bannon returns to the White House.

“Breitbart gained an executive chairman with his finger on the pulse of the Trump agenda.”

The pulse of the Trump agenda is a flatline.

Sure, but he has a lot less power outside of the WH than in it, whatever his drug-inspired grandiose mind may imagine.

Bannon, the slovenly and unkempt Leninist, is not interested in simply "boosting " Trump, he is, more likely, interested in continuing to exert total control over him. The arrogant Bannon is not likely to be willing to relinquish his svengali-like control over the empty shell of The Apprentice. That would be too humbling for his mammoth sized ego. And ,most importantly, Robert and Rebekah Sinclair aren’t paying the toxic Bannon big $$$ to just be an executive at Breitbart. They are paying him those $$$ to be Trump’s puppeteer.

I dunno, I tend to think with Bannon on the outside pissing in, it’s probably more likely the government will shutdown when they kind find the votes for a budget that includes a border wall.

Pence - Bannon served with “distinction.” Yup, Bannon is distinctly a racist.

If Bannon really wants to influence Trump, he should get a hosting gig on Fox & Friends instead of returning to Breitbart.

Here’s another angle on the Bannon /Mercer relationship:

Although it is possible that Bannon could return to Breitbart, he also could launch a new venture. That’s what media entrepreneur Jim VandeHei predicted before news of Bannon’s departure broke.

If it happens, watch for a Mercer-backed, America First, “Bannon Media” to unfold instantly…https://www.axios.com/white-house-review-nears-end-officials-expect-bannon-firing-2474443198.html?utm_medium=linkshare&utm_campaign=organic

Bannon is a marketing guru, that’s his Goldman Sachs background. I don’t know how serious he really is on white supremacy, I think he may really think of them as being losers as he said to that reporter. Who really knows? I suspect he was the man behind his departure as he thought it would take some heat off of Trump after the Charlotte disaster. He shaped the Trump presidency and I doubt he has given up on it. This leaving the White House smells like a headline grabbing diversion and he’s still very much on team Trump. I think he see’s an opportunity to broaden his message to a wider audience. I suspect he will have wealthy foreign and domestic help in whatever his next move is. At any rate, I would not write him off as a drunken, racist loser.

Yep, I think Bannon did that interview with Kuttner to force Trump to accept his resignation. But I think Bannon did it because:

A) Bannon was tired of being a secondary or tertiary player in the Trump mal-ministration, and

B) Bannon wanted out before the Trump shit hits the Mueller fan - a fall everyone expects to take place this autumn.

Ironically, Boris Karloff received no billing in the 1931 production. The only cast listing:

As is his vile daughter. I long for the days of pooh-bahs like Henry James.

The Robber Barons had more charity than this flaming egotist.

Decidedly Bannon will have less power, but more influence, with no checks on his machinations. He (with the Mercer money and tech savvy behind him, not to mention a laser-like focus on the deciding states) had as much to do with getting Trump elected as Comey.

We already lost a war. Bannon leaving the White House isn’t a victory in relation to anything beyond the Trump administration. But the focus for these people isn’t that small, never has been, Trump was just their pawn and poster boy.

And our focus can’t be that small either.

I don’t know what the Vegas odds would be for the 2018 SOTU, but I can’t imagine they’d be much different than the odds that Trump is gone by the end of the year - which online bookmakers Paddy Powers are putting at 1:1, aka 50%.
