Discussion: Bannon: It'd Be The ‘End Of Everything’ If Trump Turned Left On Gun Control

Everything, Steve? What’s “everything?”

It would be a turn away from fascism. Which is why it is unthinkable that Trump would actually take that course.

Well if everything means becoming a caring human being looking out for the welfare of the citizens he is supposed to be leading yes I suppose you are right it would be the end.

Well, then, I guess we go with plan B: “And we pray for the day when evil is banished, and the innocent are safe from hatred and from fear.” Has the virtue of simplicity, certainly.

Now I understand.

The RWNJ are threatening the US Government and citizens that they will exercise their 2nd Amendment Rights:

“Impossible: will be the end of everything,” Bannon told Axios in a text message.

Trump adviser Roger Stone “Base would go insane and he knows it,” he said.

“Base would go insane and he knows it,” he said."

Then that says a lot about that base. If this one topic is so pivotal to the base, it clarifies what they are and how they see the world. If they are that obsessive, they are no longer a base but a threat to everything consider wise and good.

Not good optics as they would say.

I suppose it comes as a surprise to no one that when it comes to attacks by foreign terrorists, the Republicans claim that it is the President’s duty to protect the American people by limiting foreigners access to America, but when it is a matter of attacks by domestic terrorists the Republicans claim that it is the President’s duty to protect the gun lobby by making sure that domestic terrorists have unfettered access to high-powered weaponry and the American people are on their own.

Is America great yet?

The end of everything Bannon would be a blessing and an answer to all the “thoughts and prayers.”

“There will be certainly time for that policy discussion to take place, but that’s not the place that we’re in at this moment,” White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said Monday.

Has it not been long enough to talk about gun control since Orlando? Newtown? Aurora? Virginia Tech?

How can it be “premature”? How can another huge massacre on top of all the others make it ‘premature’ to talk about gun control? If it wasn’t premature last week, then it’s not premature now. It’s a bit TOO damn mature. It’s a subject that’s been avoided for too long. Sunday night’s shooting in Las Vegas shows just how overdue this conversation is.

There probably is no greater waste of breath than the calls for sensible gun control measures after a Vegas type massacre. It’s not happening. Ever. Every one of the 300,000,000 guns in circulation get a vote on the matter, and those votes exceed by a magnitude of 10 the number of people fervently committed to changing our gun laws. It’s a new world out there Dems, one dictated by gerrymandering, voter suppression and disenfranchisement, a SCOTUS and Federal Courts soon to be HEAVILY tilted Right, and a Republican party happy to harness the power of social media to bamboozle all but the most discerning citizen (with Russian help if need be). If you’re young with your life ahead of you I’d cut your losses and get out. Canada happily welcomes educated professionals. If you’re older and rounding the last turn in the race you’re fucked. Kevlar, closed shades and Netflix. Get used to it.

PS-Think of your grandchildren, You really need to get them out of the country. They have long lives to start anew somewhere else.

Steve, we’re kinda already there with the idiot you installed in the White House with the help of Pootie Poot. Now get the fuck out of my country you anti-American bloody, infected pustule on the body politic.

Asshole.

Lets see if the math works. Trump base 30%. Americans that want common sense gun control legislation 90%. Now what was that again Stevie?

In my experience, Guns are a much more pivotal, red button issue, than abortion, for most GOPers. It reaches a much wider percentage of their base, for one thing, and over the past 20-50 years, its become even more “religious” to them. Any restriction, or even discussion of a restriction, on guns is considered a serious blasphemy. They have freaking fashion shows with guns where I live, to try and sell more of them to women (and no, I am not kidding. “This one will look good with your business suit, this one when you are out on the town”).

Even when they discuss, after such an incident like Las Vegas, things like background checks (which most agree make sense), they are just as quick to argue that there be NO limits on assault rifles, magazine size, and that we should be expanding open carry laws.

That 30% dictates what Congress does. Defy them and you get primaried. That 30% is cultivating candidates ready and able to take seats via those primaries. You think Congress is borderline fascist and wingnut crazy now? Just wait.
