It’s okay, folks. Esteemed counselor Allen will land a job with a national organization within a week … with all the steaks he can eat!
He can take off his white sheet and use it as a tablecloth.
A new addition to drumpf’s list of potential Supreme Court appointees
"None of the historical facts and alleged facts recently publicized about Mr. Allen’s political views and affiliations were disclosed or discussed when his contract was agreed to,” the statement read, according to the newspaper.
Neat! So who got him the job? “We don’t want nobody that nobody sent,” as we say at home. If they didn’t ask him about his beliefs, it’s because someone already knew them.
Mr. Allen will be representing himself in a wrongful termination, 1st Amendment peaceable assembly, and 14th Amendment due process case against the City of Baltimore. The ADF and Liberty Counsel are expected to file amicus briefs.
“I am reluctant to get on my knees and beg forgiveness from something like the Southern Poverty Law Center which I regard as a censorship organization," he told the paper.
No one’s asking you to beg for anything, Glen. This is no longer about you. It’s about the department that was willing to hire an asshole like you.
Trump, Cohen, and Allen LLC was just incorporated today. Dewey, Cheatem & Howe was already taken.
They are apparently going to specialize in public relations and minority outreach.
.
“I am reluctant to get on my knees and beg forgiveness from something like the Southern Poverty Law Center which I regard as a censorship organization."
The Southern Poverty Law Center is a nonprofit organization specializing in civil rights and public interest litigation. They don’t censor anyone – they merely brings relationships to light. If you don’t like having your alliance with neo-Nazis pointed out, don’t associate with them.
I am sending a check to SPLC as soon as I get my finances in order. They are obviously doing the work Baltimore SHOULD have done before hiring this dirtbag.
An excellent organization.
“the Southern Poverty Law Center which I regard as a censorship organization,”
“Censorshp” AKA “political correctness.” And now we begin to see even more clearly what that really means for today’s “conservatives.”
Remember whenever the Democrats won an election (or lost one for that matter) the establishment GOP, like David Brooks, would wisely remind us that is still a “center right country”? How long before the establishment Repubs start intoning that “this has always been a white nationalist country”?
Really? Are you routinely asked your political beliefs when you apply for jobs?
When I apply for a City Hall job, it’s because an associate of mine at City Hall is getting me the job. He won’t have to ask about my political beliefs. That’s the same in every big city in the world. Nobody had to put on paper that he was a neo-nazi, but at least one decision-maker already knew.
yeah. crawl back in your hole, glen.
Sorry. I’m not willing to make the assumption that the 75,000 employees of that “City Hall” called Baltimore just happened to have an “associate” to speak for them. There actually is an application process for those with qualifications to apply for government jobs, and I choose to believe it’s not just spit in the wind. Some folks get in by networking, of course, but it’s just way too cynical to assume all, or even the majority, do.
Question…when you say City Hall, do you mean Baltimore City Hall? Wondering if you have local ties. Because I do…and I can say without question that while there may be a Neo-Nazi type here and there embedded in the Baltimore City bureaucracy, the city has a WHOLE lot more people working for it who are anything but (and that’s an understatement) rabid right wing bigot.
The insinuation here is that “someone” knew of Allen’s ties, and if “someone” knew, there probably was a culture of looking the other way if not accepting this type of bigoted world view. From what I’ve seen (and I’ve seen a lot) of Baltimore City government, this just isn’t the case. Honestly, my interactions with city government tells me that incompetence is more likely. But that’s my experience, so I’m interested if you have a different one.
So, without cynicism, an actual neo-nazi actually did end up defending a fairly racist police department. Was this just a coincidence? I think, given the consequences here, cynicism deserves more serious consideration, even if it hurts the feelings of the undoubtedly decent majority of the employees of the City of Baltimore.
I don’t have any specific ties to Baltimore. I don’t know how “at least one-decision-maker” is inconsistent with “the city has a WHOLE lot more people working for it who are anything but (and that’s an understatement) rabid right wing bigot.” The insinuation I was making was that politically-connected jobs go to people with political connections, which would make the absence of a political vetting process irrelevant as an ass-covering tool. I’m pleased to learn this isn’t the case.
How would we feel if this guy got fired for being a supporter of the Socialist Workers party, or had spoken out in favor of Sharia law? Would we think that was OK? If not, then we should disapprove of this.
Didn’t you mean the ACLU?
