Discussion for article #235788
I know who the right wants to pin the blame on. Barak Obama, Barak, Obama, Barak Obama, Barak Obama and Barak Obama. Totally innocent in all this are the holy angels ie. Baltimore Police.
Hmm. Whom to blame, whom to blame…Let’s see, how about a system of justice that puts a black man in custody in the back of a van, and after 45 minutes the black man comes out in a coma and nobody knows what happened. Just, “oops”.
So, the American “Right” is now disavowing the doctrine of personal responsibility and resorting to blaming “Society”.
Who is to blame when white college students riot over a football game, as has happened numerous times?
Wow – a total pukefest on the part of the RWNJs. As usual, the answer is always simple, never delving too deeply into history, how messy it can be and how we got here – nor real, thoughtful, concrete ideas about how to address the core concerns of the people who obviously have grievances.

Winning GOP message: Against anarchy & chaos, at home & abroad. Cheney-Giuliani 2016 probably too much to hope for…But if not them, who?

These people really are SO out of touch. Cheney is one of the most disliked political figures, literally, in U.S. history. http://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2011/08/remembering-why-americans-loathe-dick-cheney/244306/
He’ll be 76 years old on inauguration day.
Since they have been fanning the flames of ignorance, hate and racism for the past seven years, the cowardly right just want to blame anyone that is black. Period.
As D. Watkins wrote in the NYT:
And it’s about more than just the cops. We’ve watched as Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake, in conjunction with Police Commissioner Anthony W. Batts, spent over a week investigating what appears to be an open-and-shut case. I’d like to think that if I broke a person’s neck for no reason, I’d be charged in minutes. But the system — even when it’s run by a black mayor and a black commissioner, even when a majority of the City Council is black — protects the police, no matter how blatant and brutal they are.
For days they held peaceful protests. They were largely ignored by the media. No one paid any attention until things started burning.
“…blame for the chaos…”
Alex, I’ll take “Police Breaking People’s Spines” for $100, please.
If a Muslim police officer handcuffed a white guy and put him in the back of a van for, say, carrying a concealed firearm, and then took his prisoner on a “cowboy ride” whereby the prisoner broke his neck and died soon after, what would the RWNJ be saying now? Where would law enforcement come down on this situation?
More to your point: why don’t the cops have the gonads to stand up and say “this isn’t right”? Why do cops clam up like common criminals when they are challenged with policing their own?
Cheney-Giuliani 2016? Can the U.S. military fight seventeen wars simultaneously?
The Baltimore police are to blame by killing an AA man who asked for medical help. The biggest problem goes back to no manufacturing jobs in the US. When people had jobs in inner cities people were happier and there was still poverty but not a the level we see now. There has been no replacement for manufacturing jobs lost in inner cities.
The only new thing here is blaming the mayor. Other than that, it’s the same old farcical story: Lurid images appear on TV, the right trots out the same old idiot pundits to make the same old convoluted arguments blaming the same old usual suspects: Obama, Democrats, the breakdown of the family, Satan etc. etc. If young black men are involved, there’s a special argument, increasingly thinly veiled, about how they’re uniquely dangerous. But even that’s a well-worn thing; some of us older people may remember the phrase “roving bands of Negro youths” from the coverage of the riots in the Sixties. In general it’s the same old stuff. If mutant lizards from space were attacking Melbourne, Australia these people would be saying exactly the same thing. Lurid images are an opportunity to attack your political enemies, rinse and repeat.
Exactly - we just had a riot in Lexington after the NCAA basketball loss - no one cited race as a reason. ~1500 fans hit the streets. The only things involved are usually testosterone and beer. Nothing got burned (not for want of trying!), but the cops were on the scene immediately and arrested the troublemakers on the spot (a lot better outcome than in some previous years). The cops here are used to this scenario and prepared.
Wingers are ALWAYS going to spout their hypocritical crap - that’s a given. On the other hand, I guess Baltimore should have been more prepared? They had a LOT of time to figure this out, seeing as how the whole thing has taken a couple weeks to play out. There’s ALWAYS a criminal element that are going to take advantage of the chaos around demonstrations to cause trouble, so you take this into consideration and keep a weather eye on it. Just sayin’
Blaming the mayor? Not new. See: Katrina, 2005
Oh … for fuck’s sake.
CLEARLY It was Hillary who caused the whole mess. She obviously issued orders from her secret bat cave to all of Baltimore and Maryland law enforcement to Stand Down and give the looters the weapons they needed. It’s part of her master plan to round up all the Republicans and make them get gay married in FEMA extermination camps … after she personally conducts medical experiments on them to try and melt their brains to turn them into liberals.
In other news, I hear tinfoil futures are absolutely booming right now. Buy in now while it’s still cheaper than gold …
This particular mayor.
Oh gaaad’…somehow, using some twisted machination, the Rightie FOXbot sheeple simply have to blame BENHILLARYGHAZIIIII’ ! It MUST have been one of the primary causal factors!
Coming up next on FOX: “What did the mayor of Baltimore know about Benghazi and when did she know it? People!!!”
