She’s “retired” in that she no longer has to sit around Congress getting a paycheck for making dumb statements. Instead, she’s a freelancer for dumb statements now.

Gone but not gone.
Politician used to lose or retire from office and quietly disappear into the bowels of lobby shop (or the Heritage Foundation) where they could cash in on the contacts they made during their time in office. Now, through the miracle of Facebook we get to enjoy Bachmann’s daft rants like rotting fish.
