Discussion for article #235865
Even though the spelling might be different, he obviously shares the same incredible level of intelligence with Steve Doocey.
And I’m about 99.999999% certain that God could tell the GOP that humans were causing climate change and they would still be “Nope, I don’t believe you.”
Of course he’s not a scientist—he’s a slinger of beer, toothpaste, and ice cream, as far as I can tell. I guess I’ll still tend to believe the 97 percent of people who are scientists. It’s the liberal way to mindlessly, robotically believe what you’re told by people who have the professional training and experience to know what the fuck they’re talking about.
Of course he does…what else can you expect from the bought and paid for Koch whores.
Sure I know this is a gun, but since I’m not convinced there are bullets in it, I’m going to put it to my head and pull the trigger anyway.
“We just went through a great briefing of all the experts…”
“…and I ignored everything they said in favor of just making up whatever explanation won’t piss off my biggest donors. Those of you suffering in this drought can go suck a fat one. I did…and look where it got me.”
2nd order denialism, right there. They are the biggest threat to getting anything done at this point.
Stupid is as stupid does.
Not one to be easily outdumbed by Abbott…
When I lived in Arizona we thought it was monsoon rains that washed all the idiots out from under their rocks. Unfortunately, a great many of them did not go back in, and they now have a large culture of morons playing at politics.
fun fact: the majority of aboriginal peoples in what is now the USA were not killed by European settlers; they were killed by an epidemic. For instance, well over 90% of Native Americans in Massachusetts were wiped out before the Pilgrims arrived.
The sudden, drastic reduction of the human population caused a mini Ice Age due to the forests that grew back after they ceased being used for fuel. That is, suddenly a lot more CO2 was taken out of the atmosphere.
And that is all one needs to know on the topic of whether it’s possible for humans to affect the climate on a global scale. It most certainly is possible, it happened in the past, and it is happening now.
Can’t wait to hear his “evidence” making him skeptical…
Doug “il Ducey” Ducey is my idiot, former ice-cream parlor-owning governor. He knows a lot about stuff that melts; climate dynamics–not so much.
It’s 97 degrees in Phoenix right now, 3 p.m. PT, and the average temp for this time of year is supposed to be around 85. Does that not tell the average dim witted pol everything he needs to know?
Sadly, we are used to the heat here and I doubt anyone would be interested in tracking temp history, averages or anything like that. We pretty much deal with three settings:
- Hot but not so hot
- Hot
- Really Really hot
With the exception of a few days out of the year, we can get away with wearing shorts and sandals. Even in December.
Equally sad is Douchey’s words play to the base. They absolutely will not believe in climate change because A, the bible doesn’t mention it and B It’s not written in the Constitution.
So there you have it.
I had kinda thought Douche was sane - I mean he didn’t come off as too bad at first. Our new Superintendent of Education Diane Douglas ® came in and within a week or so after she took office decided to fire members of the Board of Education. Doug rehired them, going over her head. That caused a little bit of a spat. He’s also been getting a lot of press coverage, particularly if there is a police shooting - he gets right out in front of the cameras and lovingly strokes them over and over. But I guess over time he’s reveal his true wingnuttyness. This issue will not do him in though. Not by a long shot.
no! It was cold somewhere.
You left one item out;-P
It was cold in the back of the ice cream parlor in the freezer. That’s what caused his convenient skepticism.
But the degrees of hot are always tempered with the reminder “there’s no humidity.” Consolation thought: Arizona once was sane enough to elect Napolitano as governor but then that led to Jan B and we know the rest.
