Discussion for article #227781
If gun nuts didn’t have convoluted logic, they would have no logic at all.
Ridiculous laws are all fine and good until reality smacks you upside the head and turns your little world upside down.
Is this a good time to talk about gun safety? No
Is this a good time to talk about stalking? No
Good! Do not fold to this bullshit! What’s more, I’m going to do to McSally what was done to Kirsten Gillibrand: You say you’ve been stalked? Give us details – and no, being asked questions by the media does not count!
It’s not stalking if you have a gun. It’s hunting.
And that’s why Dick Cheney loves Teh Gays.
Hate the stalking, love the stalker’s gun rights.
so this woman who is running as a republicon is against making it harder for people busted for stalking to get a permit for carring a gun and wants the ad to come down because she was stalked…am I getting that right or is this woman bat shit insane!!! enquierin and or rational minds wanna know
First of all, it’s not Barber’s ad; the ad is sponsored by a gun safety PAC. And since it is illegal for candidates to coordinate with PACs, you might even say it would be inappropriate for Barber to demand that the PAC pull the ad down.
Second of all, I hear McSally making a lot of complaints about the ad, but I don’t hear her saying anything that explains why she, claiming to be a stalking victim, doesn’t think the law should make it harder for people convicted of stalking to obtain guns. A lot of women in this country are killed by estranged husbands and boyfriends who stalk them and gun them down. And the sad fact is that restraining orders are not terribly effective on their own.
“Arizona Republican congressional candidate Martha McSally has called for a gun control ad accusing her of opposing making it harder for stalkers to get a gun because, McSally said, she is a victim of stalking.”
I cannot understand that sentence. I figured out what you were saying from the rest of the article, but man.

… bat shit insane!!! [/quote] nailed it! BTW - she’s running for a seat in MY district.
Lemme guess…We also cannot criticize your opposition to abortion because you’re a woman, right?
At this point the GOP doesn’t even read.
Guns—Whooo Hooo!
Stalkers with guns—Whoooo Hoooo!
Unless you are in Scotland. Deer stalking. Bird shooting. fox hunting.
First word of the article: Arizona. They are pushing hard to take Teh Crazy title from Texas. Pride? Wingnut tourism dollars? Something in the water?
Good. No backing down on this one!
Per Capita? Arizona took the title on crazy from us long long ago.
What if we just restrict gun use by your ex-boyfriends? Would that work?
So did Martha confront her stalker with her own “good girl” gun? I think the Arizona media should stalk the details behind her statement.
