I think one has to keep in mind, this isn’t actually Donald’s decision.
For example, there is no way in hell that Jared and Ivanka are going to green light Christie coming in as CoS. After their continued run ins with Kelly, they will be having and outsized say in who his replacement will be. And Trump’s mental and emotional state is deteriorating so badly right now, that Ivanka almost certainly is going to be who he listens to the most on this.
There will still be some Donald in this, of course… Which is why I don’t think any politician…current or past…is seriously going to be looked at. They would demand too much of the spot light, and Donald can’t share that with anyone. (Although as the legal troubles keep mounting, he might want to

Whomever is named to the role, s/he will assume the honorific, Griftmaster Grand Flash, bestowed with all the rights, responsibilities and privileges thereof.
Any sentient being with one operating brain cell would demand immunity from prosecution before accepting any position on the rapidly sinking SS Trump.

Reports ain’t what they used to be. More often than not when they are not disinformation they are trolling. That is doubly so with all things Trump where most ‘reports’ carry about the same amount of information as reports in the Enquirer about Jen having Brad’s baby or better yet the latest reports in Soap Opera Digest. True stories about make believe.
Really scratching at the bottom of the barrel, combination of clueless people, those already too compromised to bail and masochists with endless appetite for humiliation. We will know when the Trump presidency is chin deep in shit, when Chris Christie stops wanting a part in it.

Oh, there is no way in hell Conway is seriously being considered for CoS…not with her husband launching twitter attacks on Individual 1.
Conway isn’t a CoS type person anyway. She was given the title Campaign Manager, but she didn’t actually manage any campaign…she was merely a PR hack that they rolled out regularly because she is willing to say any lie.
He has the three qualities needed, confidence and brains and … I forget the third thing.
