They test fired weapons. That will work well in court.

a la Cheech Marin: “I was framed!”

You’re misinterpreting that press release. It’s talking about doing a chemical analysis on the lead, which has proven to be unreliable. Matching lands and grooves on a bullet, however, is still an accepted standard.

“I never do nothin’ wrong!”

You’re right. I was thinking of the bogus hair analysis. Sorry 'bout that. Twas my natural distrust of statements by law enforcement kicking in again.

/sigh/…white people.

The more alarming finding is that fingerprint ID is more subjective than we’d been led to believe. And eyewitness testimony is so unreliable, it should be barred from being introduced at trial!

Maricopa County – isn’t that Arpaio country? Not that it means anything one way or another. I’m not sure what to think about this.

Is it still a “drive-by” shooting if only the victim was driving?

Is it me or does this guy kinda look like the actor Chris Pratt circa 2009?

Yes, it’s sheriff Joe’s county. The suspect is not illegal or Latino so he has little to say.
