Discussion: Australian PM Condemns Far-Right AU Senator's Racist Response To NZ Massacre

I’m surprised tRump hasn’t offered him honorary citizenship & the keys to the city of Washington.

Steve King only wishes he could get away with that sort of shit.

I keep reminding myself that we shouldn’t sink to their level.

Would love to see his election material, as in how did he present himself and then who the fuck voted for him.

How very Goebbels of him, blaming the victims for being killed by racist thugs.

The echos of 1933 Germany are getting louder and louder if you choose to listen.

Sheep-fuckers in the outback of Queensland.

Just like our Cattle-fuckers in Wyoming who voted overwhelmingly for Trump, and for the same goddamned reasons.

I think Steve King has been getting away with that sort of shit.

Looks to me like dumb ass and evil racist voters do not only exist in the US. Australia, specifically Queensland, obviously have their fair share also.

If it were me and someone said my words and deeds prompted a mass killing I’d reflect a bit on my rhetoric.

The orange stain on Amerika’s soul is spreading.

Run for office, folks. Soon.

Never heard of the Crusades, I guess.

Umm no, Queensland is the rain forest, beaches, and tourism is greatest economic driver. Sheep are farther inland and west of Queensland.
If this Senator is worried about the brown skins then he’s worried about Aboriginals and others SE Asians.

Actually, the rain forests, beaches and tourists are along the coast, you don’t have to get too far inland to be in the scrubland and eventually desert.

I remember my to-be wife and I hitchhiking across “the top” to Mt. Isa quite a few years ago - we got out of the rain belt pretty fast once we left the coast (sidebar ramble: highlight of the trip - an engineer who worked for the railways was staging to Nonda, which is where they changed crews. After a couple of beers in the pub, he persuaded the next crew to take us along, so we got to drive a diesel-electric double header across the outback all the way to Mt. Isa!)

But I digress - check out Google Maps, drop the little figure between Charters Towers and Townsville and you’ll see that you get some gum trees, but no rain forest pretty quick. Water really is a scarce commodity in Oz…

Here’s a shot from the highway outside of Charters Towers, heading west.

According to Juan Cole, Christian were the leading killers by far in the 20th century. The “score” was something like 102 million (killed by Christians - mostly fellow Christians) to 4 million (killed by Muslims - mostly fellow Muslims).

Thanks, my experience of Australia was Melbourne, Sydney, Cairns, and the bestest part was

With all things considered, I’d rather do more exploring on the Western coast of AU and revisit all of NZ again.

As I recall, the annual “bloodshed in New Zealand streets” is in the single digits, if you exclude vehicle accidents. So this guy is completely full of shit, as if we didn’t already know.

Sad to see that Australians have their own evil Steve King Wannabee.

Wouldn’t it be nice if we had a president who was willing to stand up for the same things Morrison is standing for? And one who with sufficient spine to condemn racism rather than stoke its consuming flames.

Then again, our president’s a racist too.

@lastroth I don’t think these people require proximity to hate. Just the thought of a Brown Peril is enough for the very white. How many people back in the days of the Yellow Peril ever saw a native of China or Southeast Asia? Not all that many, I suspect.
