Who suffers from lead-based poisoning? Overwhelmingly poor kids of color. They don’t care as Melania let us clearly know.
Sadly, is there anyone on earth truly surprised by this? For anyone who wants to know what Democrats would/could do to justify their existence–this is a prime example.of some damn-well-needed jobs that could be created and usefully put into place reasonably quickly.
They could pay for years of solid middle-class wages w/ benefits, teach useful skills, be in places where employment opportunities are greatly needed, do work having multiple (personal, familial, community, national, and societal) positive effects for generations to come, create (hundreds of?) thousands of new/improved taxpayers, and go away when the work’s done–no “Gummint Make-Work Jobs Foe-Evah” for Republican’ts to whine about (although I guarantee they will, anyway)!
Who knows, an Urban Health Conservation Corps, anyone? I’ll close w/ the article that made me prouder than ever before to be a regular contributor…

Asserting BY OMISSION that this is a Trump Admin issue, which it clearly has not been before now.
This is YET ANOTHER incompetent bit of mismanagement by the Obama Administration. Or by the City of New York. Or by the East Chicago Housing Authority.
You’d think that a reasonable conclusion would be that these problems could have been fixed years ago. But, nope, Obama was too busy working on his jump shot.

The picture of HUD secretary Ben Carson should be replaced by that of either Obama or Julian Castro, previous HUD secretary. While Carson is responsible going forward, this entire article is about the past.

In all fairness to Carson, the lead paint chip lobby knew he had a weak spot for eating them on pizza years ago. It was entrapment!
