why the fuck is DOJ defending Trump’s private business interests? Using Federal Money to defend about a lawsuit involving private conduct is likely illegal. We need to sue the fucker for stealing public resources this way.

How does DOJ get to intercede between the state AGs and various business entities? The IRS I guess they can get involved with. But not the trump org or tower I wouldn’t think.

Even regarding the IRS, it’s President Individual 1’s personal business, not the federal government’s. Hopefully, a federal judge will tell the DOJ they have no standing in this case.
I think it is DOJ that IRS would call when they don’t want to respond to a subpoena. I don’t think indiv 1 enters into it.

Looks like subpoenas went to 13 Trump entities and also Federal agencies (including those that may have spent $$ at hotel) and the state of Maine (for a LePage trip). The deadline for response is Jan 3.
